I worked at NIH as a nuclear medicine technologist under the guidance of Dr. Gerald Johnson and Dr. Eric Jones. Eric had the kindest heart of any doctor I have ever known. He was a thoughtful, compassionate, and a very caring gentleman. My sincere condolences to Susan, a kind and wonderful woman in her own right, and her family. My heart is in tears.

It's a sad news for all of us. I worked with Dr. Jones at the FDA back in the '90, he was very much like my mentor then and we kept in touch from time to time. We met Dr. Jones and Susan again in their home in Solana Beach before the pandemic not knowing that would be the last time we saw him. Eric and Susan had been a great supporter and friends of our family. He was a great man, loving, sharing and supporting everyone around him. We miss him a lot. We hope the family can take this hurtful loss with mercy and strength, knowing he is now with the Lord.

May him rest in peace. Amen.

Eric and Susan were lifelong friends of my parents, Dorothy and Gerald Johnston. Eric and susan visited my father at his assisted living residence which made my father very happy and which our family greatly appreciated. We will miss him very much. Eric worked with my father at NIH and they socialized often. The Johnston family is so sorry for your loss.
