The website asked what made my brother different from other people I know.  Fonso had the ability to put others before himself, sometimes to his own detriment.  It was a quality I admired.

Thinking of you this holiday season.  ❤️

Today is your birthday

Wish you were here

I'd give you a soda,

Maybe even a beer

I think of past parties

For birthdays and such

You were easy to smile

Never asking for much

Fifty-nine is a number

You didn't get to see

What would you have done

Where would you be

I know where you are

My heart says it's true

I just wanted to say

That I love you

Happy Birthday, Fonso!

I remember your first day of school, when I thought you would never come back, but you did.

I remember your first Boy Scout overnight outing, and I thought you would be eaten by bears and never come back, but you did.

I remember when I was afraid of the dark in my room, thinking you wouldn't let me sleep with you, but you did.

I remember when I ran from you, when you had a knife and said you didn't love us, but you did.

I remember when you left for Tennessee to Bible college, thinking you would never come back, but you did.

I remember when you said you did not protect me enough in school, but you did.

I remember when you came back from Tennessee, thinking you couldn't have changed, but you did.

I remember when they told me you were sick, thinking you wouldn't have to go to the hospital, but you did.

I remember you got well, thinking you wouldn't have to go back to the hospital, but you did.

I remember the last voicemail you left, thinking you would never say you were proud of me, but you did.

I remember telling you, “I love you,” thinking you wouldn't hear me, but you did.

I remember hoping and praying that you would never leave this world, but you did.

I don't remember telling you enough how much you meant to me, but…you…did.

My condolences to Alfonso's daughter Bethany and his Dad and Brothers. May God be with you all and give you strength during this time.

I will always remember Fonso with his big beautiful smile. When he smiled it lit up his eyes and any room he was in.  It made you want to smile along with him.

Even if he was teasing you because you had big ol pony tails in your hair! Lol  He was one of my big cousins that teased me, along with three big brothers that enjoyed teasing.  It was all in fun.

I am sure he is up in heaven with my Tia Carmen enjoying a cup of coffee and spending time with his Ma. ❤️

Sending Love to you all!
