Alfonso “Al” Frausto Garcia, age 75, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 16, 2026.

He was born on July 4, 1950, in San Antonio, Texas, to the late Ignacio and Consuelo Garcia.

Alfonso was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 52 years, Cynthia Perez Garcia; his son, Matthew Garcia; his parents; and his brothers, Ignacio, Armando, and Jesus Garcia.

He is survived by his loving children, Alissa Flores (Christopher), Gabriella Davis (Bryan), and John Garcia (Erica); his cherished grandchildren, Gregory Garcia, Dylan Flores, JohnErik Garcia, John Paul Garcia, and Cynthia Marie Garcia; and his great-grandson, Michael Garcia. He also leaves behind his brother Raul Garcia and sisters Elsa Valdez and Linda de la Garza, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss him dearly.

Alfonso will be remembered for his generosity, his tender heart, and his friendly spirit always ready to strike up a conversation with anyone he met. Above all, he loved his family deeply. In the days ahead, his absence will be felt in the small, familiar places: an empty seat at the local casino and shelves at the neighborhood H-E-B that somehow stay a little more stocked with popsicles and Dr Pepper.

A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m., followed immediately by Mass on Friday, March 13, 2026, at St. Patrick’s Church in Corpus Christi. Interment will follow at Seaside Funeral Home at 11:30 a.m.
