Alfonso's obituary
Alfonso is survived by his beloved wife Rebeca Figueroa; his three children, Hilda Figueroa; Jaira F. Safakish and her husband Keon; Arnoldo Figueroa and his girlfriend Jeanette; and his adoring granddaughter Aubrie Santana.
Alfonso was born in Calvillo, Aguascalientes, Mexico, where he married his childhood sweetheart Rebeca Rosales on Dec 23,1981. Shortly after being married, he moved his family to California and planted his roots in Watsonville, working various agricultural jobs before transitioning to construction. Eventually, Alfonso established his own successful handyman business, and played an integral role in maintaining his mobile home community.
Alfonso will be remembered for his love of life, his family, and community. He had a strong work ethic and continued to take on small construction jobs well after his retirement, especially for his family and neighbors. When he wasn't at the local Home Depot trying to find something for the latest project, he could be found singing and dancing with his wife at any of the small gatherings he would have at his home. Alfonso was able to make those around him laugh; he rarely took a serious photo and those closest to him would find themselves the punch line of his jokes.
