Alfonso “Al” Homero Canales, resident of Salem, Oregon, passed away on September 11, 2021, at the age of 77 after a fierce and courageous three-and-a-half-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Al was the most loving father and grandfather, and a decorated veteran who served in the Vietnam war.

No memorial events are planned
Al is to be interred at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. He will be laid to rest with military honors in a private, graveside service. Because of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be hosting a memorial service at this time.
