Andy's obituary
Our loving son Alexander Padilla, 29, passed away January 12th, 2024 at home in Kearny, NJ.
Affectionately known as “Andy” by family and friends, Alexander touched the lives of everyone he encountered with his intelligence, kindness, and unwavering care. Born on April 6, 1994, in Harlem, he later embraced diverse communities in Long Island, Brooklyn, and most recently, Kearny, New Jersey.
Alexander's passion for children led him to embark on the journey of opening a daycare center, a testament to his endless patience and love for the younger generation. A voracious reader, talented cook, and music enthusiast, he brought joy and laughter wherever he went.
His loyalty and quick wit endeared him to friends, and his love for dogs added warmth to his compassionate nature. Alexander's ability to light up a room made everyone feel special, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Survived by his siblings Chelsea Tomboris, Anthony Maxwell Castro, Alexis Santiago, Melanie Santiago, Amy Santiago, and Alan Santiago, as well as his step-family Randolph Rey, Dominique Rey, and Mateo Rey. He was a cherished uncle and Godfather to Enzi Padilla, Kione Padilla, and Seven Nazin Slade, and a thoughtful friend to his brother in law Brendon Slade.
He is terribly missed by his loving parents, Maribel Padilla Rey and Alessandro Santiago, and is now reunited with his sister Adriana Santiago, Alexander Padilla's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to experience the warmth of his love and the brightness of his spirit.
