We are heartbroken to announce the recent passing of Alex Zaliznyak in Palo Alto, CA. 

Alex was beloved by his parents, little sister, grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, and the many friends he made on his journey through life. He was a ray of sunshine, friendly to just about everyone he encountered, greeting friends and strangers alike with smiles and warmth. Alex had a brilliant mind that could grasp any subject, and he spent his whole life learning and teaching those around him. He was gifted with many talents—eloquently speaking multiple languages, creating beautiful art, winning any game he played, and always cooking delicious meals for family, friends, and neighbors. Words can never adequately capture what this world will be missing without him.

We encourage friends and family to share memories, photos, music, or anything else that Alex loved. Your love and support are greatly appreciated, and may our fond memories of Alex bring us all comfort during this hard time. We love you, Alex.
