Alex Hart Lane, 47, left this world for the next on August 19th at 5:37pm. He was at Maine Medical surrounded by loved ones and serenaded by his favorite band, Pearl Jam.

He was born February 25, 1977 to Sheila Hart, and at the age of 5 he was adopted by Kathy and Rodney Lane after Sheila’s passing. His sister, Alicia, entered his family a year later. As an adult, he met and eventually married Amy Smith and his family quickly grew by two step-sons, Nick and Justin, and his daughter, Isabella.

Alex was a storyteller, comedian, music fanatic, car lover, and one helluva dancing machine. He was kind-hearted, quick-witted, hardworking and full of mischief and charisma. His laugh, and the laughter he brought to others, was a blessing we’ll all miss.

There won’t be a stuffy funeral (Alex would’ve hated that!), but a celebration of life will be held at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, we’d love to honor his memory by helping support his daughter, Bella, as she begins her first year of college in September. There’s nothing he’d appreciate more than knowing she’ll have one less thing to worry about as she starts this next journey.
