Alex's obituary
Alexander James Harrison
December 17, 2009 – October 28, 2025
It is with broken hearts that we share the passing of Alexander James Harrison, who left us on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the age of 15.
Beloved son of Michael and Leah (née Johnson) Harrison. Cherished brother of Luella and Teddy. Treasured grandson of Audrey (née Hautala) and the late David Harrison, and of Susan (née Zastrow) and Dean Johnson. Loving nephew of Sarah (Thomas) Garner, Luke (Shauna) Johnson, and the late Jesse Johnson. Alex will also be deeply missed by his cousin, extended family, and the many dear friends who were touched by his kindness and joyful spirit.
Born in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, on December 17, 2009, Alex was an exceptional young man whose caring heart, bright mind, and gentle nature left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His curiosity and genuine interest in others made him a favorite among teachers, classmates, and family alike. Alex possessed a remarkable intelligence—he loved learning for its own sake, asking thoughtful questions, and finding wonder in the details of the world around him. His sharp sense of humor could light up any room, bringing laughter and ease to those fortunate enough to know him.
Alex had a wide range of passions and an eagerness to explore them all. He loved history, nature, and art, but his greatest joys were found in music and theater. A talented cellist who also taught himself to play guitar and other string instruments, Alex filled his home with beautiful music. He discovered a love for theater in fourth grade and went on to shine in prominent roles in middle and high school productions. On stage, he came alive—his energy, creativity, and passion inspiring everyone around him. In quieter moments, he could often be found in his room, strumming his acoustic guitar and singing softly to himself or to friends.
Alex’s warmth, compassion, and authenticity were gifts to all who knew him. He brought light and laughter to every space he entered, and his gentle spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 12012 West North Avenue, Wauwatosa, WI, from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the Memorial Service at 3:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Alexander’s name may be directed to his memorial fund.
