Alex's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we share our beautiful son and brother, Alex Walker Enebo has left this world to find the eternal happiness, peace, and love he so needed. Our hearts are torn to pieces at this unthinkable loss.
Born on August 28, 2003, Alex completed his earthly journey on April 10, 2024. He was very loved and will be missed by many. We are so grateful for his friends, coaches, sponsors, and family who were there to help him through the ups and downs. He chose you and loved you all immensely.
Although his life was brief, his heart and capacity to love others was endless. Alex adored fostering dogs and wanted to keep every one of them. He was so touched by their stories that he had a desire to start his own rescue one day. A goal "to save all the doggies”. He adopted his own sweet Tigger just this past January. "Mitter Tigger" as he called him, brought him much joy.
Alex seemingly came out of the womb obsessed with cars. It was his first word, and he would gleefully point out anything with wheels and exclaim "car", until he learned the difference. At 3 years old he could tell you the make and model of every single car in his extensive matchbox collection and as he passed by them on car rides. This passion never left him as he was so proud when he purchased his first car (a BMW) at just 18, learned to "mod" it with the help of his friend, and eventually got a job selling cars. He knew everything about almost all of them. He was planning his next purchase before he died.
Our boy was strong and determined. He spent much of his life as a gymnast, first degree black belt, and later All-Star Cheerleader. He both loved and loathed his chosen sports, but he was good at them. The time, mental and physical demand was a lot and he dedicated everything he had for himself and his teammates. He won many accolades, and it made him and us proud.
Alex was into fitness and was working out and eating healthy every day. He cared about his body. He took pride in his successes. He was an entrepreneur at heart. Alex had already started an ecommerce business related to dogs and had many more business ideas and a determination to make it on his own.
Alex also struggled. He battled mental health issues that led to dark places and substance abuse. He fought so hard to overcome both. He was looking forward to celebrating two years of sobriety this coming July. It was a prideful milestone for him. His mental health proved to be a bigger challenge. He experienced a traumatic brain injury in an accident when he was 15. His life trajectory changed in the blink of an eye that day. That injury set off a chain reaction of setbacks and tribulations for our once silly, smart, confident, and vibrant boy. Alex courageously sought help, pushed through many dark days, did everything he thought he could to find the light, but he was tired. It just became too much. His life mattered. He is loved beyond any expression conveyed through language. We pray that he is showered with sunlight on his beautiful face and is filled with laughter and joy every day, forever.
Courageous and compassionate, his presence in our lives will be sorely missed. He leaves behind unforgettable memories cherished by his brother Riley Enebo, mother Theresa Collins, father Tony Enebo, Grandmothers Sue Collins and Jeanne Craig (Michael), Grandfather Steven Enebo Sr and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Alex has been lovingly welcomed into the afterlife by his Grandpa Richard Collins, baby cousin Raiden Davis and many great-grandparents.
Memorials are being requested, in lieu of flowers, that will be donated in honor of Alex to the Denver Animal Shelter, Sloppy Kisses Animal Rescue, and a Suicide Prevention/Awareness organization.
The family will be scheduling a celebration of life later and will be communicating details on the Ever Loved site (https://everloved.com/life-of…) We appreciate your patience as we take the necessary time to grieve our beautiful angel.
His suffering has ended. Ours has just begun. Rest in peace Alibaba. Until we meet again.
In love and peace, Theresa, Tony and Riley
