I didn't know.   I knew Aleta  as Bette.  We were children together...neighbors and schoolmates...lifelong friends.  She was part of the fabric of my life; a good and courageous woman. She adored her family.  I'm sad to think we'll  not talk again this side of heaven.  My condolences to each of you in your loss.

Oh the fun we had during our 50+ years of friendship.   Having babies, mountain  camping,  Mc Donald’s, Disney movies, Crossroads mall, thrift stores with all of our kids in tow. Then there was all the reminiscing about our New York mothers. I am sad and will forever miss my friend “Betty”.

My love and condolences to Aleta's family.

Grandmothers 👵🏻 and roses 🌹 are much the same. Each is a God‘s masterpiece with different names. 🫶🏻♥️ My deepest condolences to my family overseas.
Another memory  I have of my mom, is when my sister and I were in Colorado Springs. Mom decided to drive through the downtown area. She saw this man walking with grocery bags in both arms. She had noticed that the man form the back looked like her nephew Shane, so she pulled over to ask if he needed a ride home, with the groceries. The man was very grateful to have someone offer him a ride. It turned out, he was a really nice person, and was happy that someone wanted to help him out, since he was a far walk back home. That was just the generous and helpful nature of my mom.

A good memory I have of my mum was when she was working a news paper route, when I was in highschool. Since I always have struggled to sleep at night, on nights I didnt have class. I would help out mum with news paper deliveries in the Interlocin complex. Most the time I would ride along listening to anime music, and help with bagging up news papers. It was something memorable, because I would see the sunrise almost every time.

One of the best times I had with her was when we went to international house of prayer in Kansas. This was a great bounding experience with her. When we got back to Colorado my mom and I didn’t want the vacation to end so we went to Chipotle and then Cold Stone. My stomach was so full that day but I loved spending that time with her. This was the trip I had with her before she got sick.
One of the funniest memories I have of my mom was the time she chased toilet paper down a parking lot and this man in a truck start cracking up laughing. I laughed so hard and so did she.
One thing that I will never forget, when I was little, is how my mom would let me lay my head on her stomach when watched movies together. I always felt so safe with her. I will miss how she would call me her little sweetie and say that I would always be her baby because I was her youngest.
Another thing that I will miss with my mom is how she always got the latest Disney movie for Easter and how we would always watch it together that night. My mom always gave me an Easter basket until I was 18.
1979. Aleta used to call MacDonalds "The M.C.Donalds Dinner Lounge". All sorts of of statements about low price places that made them sound like somewhere Bill Gates shopped! I would laugh at these so much I'd be gasping for breath. She really had a MAD magazine sense of humor. She was somebody you just gravitated to and she'd make you feel like you were her best friend. I knew Scott, Tammy and Katrina and all of them were really amazing people that reflect her in many ways.
I am so sorry for your loss. Your Mom really was an amazing woman!
