Alejandro Tavares, aged 75, of Rio Rico, AZ, passed away on September 2nd, 2024. He was born on February 26th, 1949 in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico to Ramona Bernal and Carlos Tavares Sr.

Alejandro worked many different jobs early on in life, but spent the majority of his adult life working in the produce industry. He was a well known member of our community, Alejandro never met a person he did not get along with. Alejandro was by far the most popular chaperone for the marching band at Nogales High School in the mid 1980’s. He enjoyed playing golf, drinking an occasional beer with his friends, making people laugh, and loved his family above all else. Alejandro touched many lives and will be remembered for his humility, kindness, sense of humor, and generosity.

He is survived by his wife Martha, children Armando Tavares (wife-Merri) and Joanna Moore (husband-Brandon), grandchildren Alejandra Hernandez, Luis Hernandez, Gabrielle Tavares, Armando Tavares Jr., Isabella Tavares, brother Carlos Tavares and sister Gloria Hernandez. Alejandro was predeceased by his sisters Olga Velasquez, Amalia Wascher, Rosa Lundin, and his brother Armando Tavares.

A funeral service/mass will be held at The Most Holy Nativity in Rio Rico, AZ, date and time to be determined.
