Alden was the Best Friend you could ever have along with Lynn we did everything from Fruit Stands to making Our War Movie "Two Took The Hill" what a classic. I have a copy of the Movie that Lynn sent me. I have so many cherished memories of Alden that I Look Back and Know How fortunate we were to have Friends Like Alden and Lynn growing up in the Armstrong Valley Rest in Peace Alden. There were four of us that did so many crazy things at Analy High School. My self (Kelly), Alden, Bill Duckhorn, and Dale Wells. We based our behaviors on the Three Stooges and as the obituary remarkded, we would tumble down stairs, run into each other "accidentally" with our books flying all over the place. Of course we would do these antics between classes to entertain the students as they were going to their next class. This behavior didn't cease until the last day of our senior year. I guess we matured after high school as Alden illustrated in his later life. Though I hadn't seen him in over 60 years, we remained friends by way of emails. I'll miss him. Alden occupied a good part of my youth that was basically based on fun and imagination. Rest in peace brothet. I'll see you on the other side when my time comes.

Hello. John and I met online through his affliation in the Russian River website. I had a fabulous 6th grade teacher at John Reed Elementary in Rohnert Park California in the early 1970s and I asked if he were related. He wasn't sure but he could have been.
Reading his beautiful obituary, it is apparent he had a life well lived and left a wonderful legacy.
My husband of 23 years also just recently passed away on October 6, of a heart attack while I was out of the country. Thus, I truly understand and can sympathize with the grief you all share over John's passing. May his soul and the soul of my beloved husband, Justin, rest in peace.

I think back on the times I spent in Pat's Bar (The Armpit) playing liars' dice against the greatest "liar" on the river. There was never a dull moment when Alden was present. I remember times I'd hear a crash at the entrance to the bar and turn just in time to see Alden tumble through the door and onto the floor just laughing his ass off. Of course, everyone in the bar who knew him would just howl. Alden is right up there with the greatest guys I ever crossed paths with. It is with great sorrow that I wish you fair winds and following seas my friend. Never to be forgotten........ R.I.P. Alden.
