Albert Roger Martin, age 85, of Carol Stream, Illinois, passed away on 11/2/25 after courageously fighting lung cancer for several years. He was born on December 22, 1939, and grew up in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Al was a devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, and the Boston Celtics.

Al proudly served in the United States Navy before graduating from the University of Massachusetts. He was an exceptional basketball player and went on to coach his daughter's basketball team during her middle school years. He went on to build a successful 40-year career in financial auditing, earning the respect of colleagues and lifelong friends.

In retirement, Al found great joy on the golf course and cherished the many opportunities to stay connected—whether at reunions, brunch outings, or simply through a friendly phone call. He was especially known for his thoughtful habit of gifting small “trinkets” to neighbors, friends, and family—just to brighten someone’s day.

Al is survived by his loving daughter, Jessica, and his cherished grandson, Remy. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
