Albert's obituary

Albert William Rembold

AGE: 98 • Parsippany

Albert William Rembold, age 98, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Care One in Parsippany. Albert was born in Newark and raised in East Orange. In February 1945, he served his country, and was awarded the Army of Occupation Medal Asiatic Pacific Campaign World War II Victory Medal. Married in 1950 to Margaret Powers, they relocated to Cedar Grove where he worked at Monroe Calculating in Morris Plains. In 1953 he moved his wife and young daughter to Lake Parsippany where he established a wonderful home for his growing family.

He held the position as Head Custodian for John Hill School in Boonton for 36 years before retiring. Albert was affectionally known as “Mr. Al The Kiddy’s Pal” among the children at John Hill. The entire staff appreciated his friendship, humor, hard work and the pride he took in maintaining the school!

Albert loved people and made friends easily with his pleasing and outgoing attitude while sharing his humor wherever he traveled. Meanwhile, he worked part-time as a projectionist at the Boonton State Theater for nearly 20 years! Albert was a family man who absolutely loved his wife, and three children. He did everything for his family, friends and neighbors. He was the official ‘Fix-it-Man” and was called upon frequently to help others in need of his skills. Albert was very supportive of each and every family member and had a deep compassion for all people. He worked hard, his kindness and love were a constant reminder of how deeply he cared for each of his family members.

He held a special place for his favorites: bowling with friends, backyard picnics with neighbors, complete with a game of horseshoes, time with loved ones at the shore, and family get-togethers. He was a devoted husband, a great Dad, dedicated worker and a remarkable man who will never be forgotten.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 61 years, Margaret (Peggie), and his sister, Anna Brown. He is survived by his children: Alan William and his wife Anmarie of Dover, DE; David Albert of Parsippany, Gayle Rembold-Furbert of Hackettstown; his brother Bill Rembold of Florida; his dear family friend, Chris Pace; his five cherished grandchildren: Jason N. Furbert, Deanna A., Ryan H., Kevin T. Rembold, Holly K. Wenk, and the numerous people he has embraced throughout his life who who mourn the loss of this amazing man!
