Albert's obituary

🤍 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Albert “Big Daddy” Harris. Born on April 6, 1950, Albert departed this life on February 11, 2026. Though many affectionately called him “Big Daddy,” he preferred simply to be known by his given name — Albert — a reflection of his humility and grounded spirit.

🩶 Albert leaves behind his beloved daughter, Nyree Penn, who carries forward his legacy with pride and determination. He is also survived by his sons: Kevin Harris, who continues his legacy of wisdom and understanding; Alteri “Ali” Harris, who reflects his calm authority and patient strength; and Aljuwon “A.J.” Harris, who shares his love of the outdoors and carries on his deep appreciation for home, family, and the roots that shaped him in Cumberland.

🤍 His understanding and guidance are profound gifts he leaves for each of us to cherish. The void created by his absence is vast — a testament to the many lives he touched and the love he gave so freely.

🩶 Albert’s character was defined by empathy and quiet strength. A counselor by nature, he was even-tempered and slow to anger, possessing an immense capacity for love, humility, and acceptance. He was a true people person and an exceptional listener. With rare sincerity, he made others feel seen and heard. Strangers often found themselves sharing their stories with him, drawn to his calm presence and steady wisdom.

🤍 Among his many accomplishments were his honorable service as a United States Marine and a distinguished career as a CSX Conductor. Yet of all the titles he held, none meant more to him than “Dad.” To his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and to so many others who looked to him for guidance, he was a source of unwavering support, strength and nurturing love.

🩶 Albert’s life lessons continue to shape those he leaves behind. He taught us to remain humble, to treat every person with equal dignity, and to trust in God’s wisdom above our own. These principles were not simply spoken — they were lived.

🤍A Celebration of Life honoring Albert will be held on February 22, 2026, at 8655 W. MiraLago Way. This gathering will allow family and friends to share stories, express their love, and celebrate the remarkable life of an extraordinary man.

🩶We will gather for a graveside burial service to honor and lay Albert to rest. The service will take place at South Florida National Cemetery in Wellington, at 12:00 PM in Lane #3. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early to allow time for parking and locating the correct lane.
