Honoring and remembering a great Man on today.  You are not forgotten Sir.  Thanks for your contribution to the World.  You have made a difference. - A.Drake
I met the illustrious Albert Johns via his youngest Son, Damu (Marcus “Damu’ Johns), while we both matriculated through Hampton University. It was when Damu & I reconnected in Atlanta, GA that I finally had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Johns in the flesh in Shaker Heights, OH one Christmas holiday season. He was every bit as vivacious and interesting 🤔 , intelligent and humorous as Damu had been sharing with me over the decades of our friendship. I’m quite blessed to have even made his acquaintance. I will contribute to the scholarship fund. What a beautiful tribute in honor of a man who truly was not a “hidden figure”...

Happy Birthday Dad. You are forever loved and in my heart 💜.
In response to "How did you first meet Albert?"
In remembrance of my late grandfather, whose birthday is today, I wrote a poem dedicated to him!

Title: Exceptional Man

What does it take to be an exceptional man?
Someone with continuous action, not only a plan
Stands firm at the base as if he were a tree
If you wish to grow as one then here’s the key
Roots sowed in soil to feed its branches and leaves
That bear fruit with seeds which signifies the birth of you and me
A legacy left behind to follow then to exceed
So when I’m gone the work I’ve done on this earth will speak for me
The lives I’ve touched, the souls I’ve saved
Will manifest characteristics of the exceptional man who lived to say
He paved the way for someone like him whose soul he was destined to liberate
Happy Birthday Dad! Today would have been your 80th birthday. We still celebrate in your honor. We love you and miss you!
