Alan's obituary
Obituary – Reverend Alan Michael Puccini
Reverend Alan Michael Puccini, beloved father, grandfather, pastor, and United States Air Force Vietnam veteran, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 4, 2026, in Yuma, Arizona. He was born in Winchester, Indiana, on May 21, 1950, and lived a life marked by faith, service, and an extraordinary commitment to helping others.
Alan proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1972. Enlisting in July of 1968, he attained the rank of Buck Sergeant (E-4) and received a line number for promotion to Staff Sergeant (E-5) prior to his honorable discharge in July of 1972. During his military service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, and the Air Force Longevity Service Award.
It was during his tour of duty that Alan surrendered his life to Jesus Christ and was baptized in the South China Sea, a moment that would shape the course of the rest of his life.
Following his return from military service, Alan married the love of his life, Carolyn, on October 22, 1970, and answered a calling to ministry. He attended Central Bible College and began serving within the Assemblies of God fellowship in 1974 when he received his Christian Worker’s Permit, followed by his License to Preach in 1977.
In 1979, he graduated from the University of Missouri–Columbia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, combining his passion for teaching with his calling to shepherd people spiritually. In April of 1980, he was officially ordained as a minister in the Assemblies of God.
For decades, Alan faithfully pastored and served churches, dedicating his life to the spiritual growth of others and investing deeply in the next generation. His final ministry assignment was leading the Assembly of God church in Wellton, Arizona, where he faithfully shepherded the congregation while also serving the community as a middle school teacher and basketball coach until announcing his retirement on December 26, 2021.
For nearly fifty years, Alan served as a pastor, mentor, and spiritual father to many. He was known for his steadfast faith in Jesus Christ, his love for people, and his unwavering commitment to preaching the Gospel. Beyond ministry, he loved his family deeply and was a devoted and proud grandfather who cherished time with his children and grandchildren.
Alan’s legacy lives on through the countless lives he impacted through his ministry, his faithful service to his country, and the family he loved so dearly.
He is now reunited in heaven with his beloved wife, Carolyn, and rests in the presence of the Lord he faithfully served.
Alan was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Puccini; his parents, Earl Anthony and Mary Josephine (Jenkins) Puccini; and his brother, Anthony Puccini.
He is survived by his daughters, Ann Black (Tim) of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and Candace Puccini of Yuma, Arizona; and his sons, Christopher Puccini (Lanette) of Kearney, Nebraska; Nicholas Puccini (Olivia) of St. Paul, Minnesota; Andrew Puccini (Stephanie) of Macomb, Illinois; Nathan Puccini (Jessica) of Champlin, Minnesota; and William Puccini (Mickayla) of Yuma, Arizona.
He is also survived by his brothers, Timothy Puccini (Tonya) and Jeffrey Puccini; fifteen grandchildren; and the many people whose lives were shaped by his decades of pastoral ministry.
