Alan's obituary
With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Charles "Alan" Planje, a man of remarkable character and zest for life, who left us on January 4, 2024. Born in 1959 and better known to most as Alan, he was a shining beacon of fun, liveliness, and care. His adventurous spirit and selflessness permeated all areas of his life, making him a cherished companion to many.
Alan's legacy is one of kindness and generosity, embodying the belief that we need more individuals like him in this world. Among his greatest achievements was his relentless devotion to work, but most importantly, his profound love for his daughter and his family. He was a man whose values and lessons linger in the hearts of his loved ones. "Live each day as if it's your last," he often said, a sentiment that perfectly summarized his approach to life.
Alan had a unique affinity for music, particularly the energetic tunes of The mighty Zep!! Hiking, especially near bodies of water, was his favored form of exercise. Not only did these activities define his hobbies, but they also painted a vivid picture of a man who was ever eager to embrace life's joys.
Alan is survived by his loving and devoted daughter, Keri Planje, and his cherished grandchildren, Charlie and Justin, his mother Pat Stanley (Bama), his Sister Kelly Drake and brother Dennis Planje. He was a proud father who welcomed his child into the world in 1983.
In honoring Alan's life, a celebration will be held on January 27, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Foothills Church, Cameron Park, CA, and subsequently on February 3, 2024, at 2:00 PM at The LAB, 1473 Lincoln Ave, Calistoga, CA.
He is dearly missed every day by those whom he cared for and those who held him dear.
ALL are welcome. Come as you are and who Alan knew you to be.
