Alan's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Alan Pinel, known to many as Al, on April 15, 2025. Born on July 27, 1948, Alan spent a lifetime epitomizing strength, bravery, and the spirit of generosity.
Alan is survived by his beloved wife, Diane T Pinel, whom he married in 1989 after having been in a committed relationship since 1983, and their sons, Michael (b. 1986) and Nicholas (b. 1998). He also leaves behind his brother, Alfred J Pinel and his wife Diane P Pinel, and sister, Cynthia Pinel. He was an uncle to his nephews, Richard and Alan R Pinel.
We remember his mother whom he loved and cherished, Theresa Ramunno, and his father Alfred Pinel, both predeceased him. Alan's legacy and love live on in his family and all those who held him dear.
Alan was a proud Vietnam War Veteran, having served his country honorably during his time in the United States Army. The lessons he gleaned from his service, of strength, resilience, and the value of human life, he instilled in his children, teaching them how to navigate in this ever-changing world.
An attendee at the Word of Life Community Church, his faith was a cornerstone of his life. It was his belief in God and eternal life in heaven that helped him accept his terminal diagnosis. His memorial service will be held at the Word of Life Community Church on June 7, 2025, at 10:00 AM, where we will celebrate his life and his immeasurable contributions to the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Alan delighted in life's simple pleasures. His favorite foods were Lo Mein, Pasta, Bread, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, and Almond Joy. He loved Dunkin Donuts Green Tea Refreshers and was a fan of The Beatles and Journey. Taking pleasure in television shows like NCIS, Let's Make A Deal, The Price Is Right, and Fox News, he also supported the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, and Boston Bruins.
The outdoors held a special place in Alan's heart, with boat rides on the pond being a favored pastime. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and his dogs, all of whom he loved dearly. Alan stayed active, enjoying playing softball, and extended his generosity to pet rescues and aiding those in need.
Alan's personality was one that stood out. He was funny, stubborn, yet loving, generous, brave, strong, supportive, and loyal. His acts of kindness and self-sacrifice were truly remarkable, earning him the respect of those who knew him.
He was a man of significant accomplishment through his service as a Vietnam War Veteran, his role as a loving husband, and a devoted father who always protected his children without hesitation. Alan will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
