Background
As a district administrator in Broward County Public Schools, and a former director, principal, literacy coach and teacher, I was trained to call in outside help when individuals do two things. When they say they want to hurt themselves and they have a plan. Aidan did neither. I envision the Aidan McLaughlin Foundation purpose being “Don’t Wait Until It’s Too Late”. We must change the mental health awareness training and hope to ensure that no one else experiences this pain.
