Agatha's obituary
Agatha Rose Whitlow departed this world on November 3rd, 2025, surrounded by her family at home in Bristol, RI; she was 86. Agatha was born and raised in Richmond, VA.
She was preceded in her passing by her mother and father, Mildred and Charles M. Whitlow Sr.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Johnathan; her cherished children, Kristin, Erika, and Paige; her three nieces, eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Agatha graduated from Richmond High School in the class of 1957 and proceeded to attend the University of North Carolina, where she went on to earn multiple degrees. At the completion of her first degree in Architectural Engineering, she felt compelled to return to school and receive a second degree, this one being in Architecture. Agatha was very proactive in her architectural pursuits, declaring that she never lived in a house that she or her father hadn't designed. After leaving her own architecture firm in Raleigh, Agatha started working for AIA in 1982 as an architect and retired from AIA in 2006 as a project manager.
Agatha never rested, filling her spare time enjoying activities with her family. She could always be found in the crowd at all of her children's sporting events, school plays, and recitals. During the summers, Agatha especially looked forward to camping on the beach and catching waves in Rhode Island. She was very active even after retirement, spending her time designing, maintaining, and refining her family's home while still finding time to renew her love of dance, becoming a dedicated member of the Providence dance community. Agatha was a woman of few words with a witty sense of humor and a contagious smile. Her generosity was second to none.
