Adrienne's obituary
Adrienne Doreen Carter
October 2, 1959 – May 9, 2025
Adrienne Doreen Carter, beloved mother, nana, and friend, passed away surrounded by her children on May 9, 2025, at the age of 65 in Seattle, Washington.
Adrienne spent her life spreading love, laughter, and a healthy dose of sass. Born on October 2, 1959, she made her home in the greater Seattle area, where she raised her children and created a life full of family, fun, and unforgettable memories.
She worked as an administrative specialist for Alaska Airlines, where she was known for her efficiency, charisma, and ability to handle any challenge with grace. She was a smooth talker, a quick thinker, and someone who could always find a way to make things work in her favor—often with a wink and a grin.
Adrienne found joy in the little pleasures of life: cuddling with her dog, hitting the slot machines at the casino, getting her nails and hair done, or jumping on a plane with her daughter for donuts in Portland. She had a knack for planning fun family gatherings, organizing bingo and holiday games that brought everyone together with laughter and love.
Adrienne's children were the most important things in her life. Her eldest son, Justin, was a partner in life she turned to when it mattered most. They shared lighthearted banter together with inside jokes and (mostly) playful teasing. Her daughter Alexis was her best friend, confidant, and the person who best understood her heart. They loved going on Disney trips together, traveling, and just spending time with each other. With her youngest son, JaCe, she was a constant guardian—always looking out for him and protecting him, with steadfast love. She adored her grandson, Nico, and found so much joy in the time she had with him. As a true dog mom, Toby was her baby whom she loved and protected endlessly from the moment she adopted him.
In 2021, Adrienne was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer, which she bravely overcame. Later that year, she was diagnosed with multiple myeloma and valiantly fought that battle for the next four years before sadly passing away. Throughout her journey, she embodied the spirit of a true warrior, showing remarkable strength and love for her family.
She is survived by her children: Justin Williams, Alexis Carter, and JaCe Carter; her daughter-in-law, Jenny Williams, and her treasured grandson, Nico Williams; her mother, Annett Chestnutt, and her brothers William (Bud), Patrick, and Rick. She leaves behind not only cherished memories but also a legacy of strength, humor, and a lot of love.
A celebration of Adrienne’s life will be held on June 7th at 3:00 pm, at the home of Justin Williams (2723 SW 328th St, Federal Way, WA 98023). All are welcome to join for food, conversation, and shared memories as we honor Adrienne’s vibrant spirit and the light she brought to our lives.
