It has now been 10 months since AJ died which is so hard to comprehend still.  I got a question- Are there things in day-to-day life that continue to remind you of AJ?

Yes! So many! He leaves me feathers often in the weirdest places, I always see more or bigger ones on bad days.

Most recently his younger brother has started wearing baseball caps and his hair is a little longer. I see Aj in his eyes and expressions as he is telling stories. My heart stops when I see those expressions and also the acknowledgment that a little part of Aj is still there.

I learned so much from AJ. the list is HUGE

All the way from how to to parallel park to teaching me how to understand my feelings and how im feeling. There's so much I do everyday that AJ had some part in teaching or showing me.
Aj was a heartfelt and a deep soul. Mostly quiet unless you got to know him, then he was a little chatterbox. He talked about the game Metroid endlessly when he was about 5 years old. What made him different was how incredibly smart he was, especially with numbers, he could do calculus in his head- mind blowing. Most recently he was sharing how much he cared for others, especially those needing help or in pain. He had aspirations to be a counselor so he could help others. Unfortunately he was not able to conquer his own demons, but I know his heart was true and he is a good soul. Miss him everyday.

AJ and Alex on the lake on Ma…
2022, Lake Powell, AZ, USA
AJ and Alex on the lake on May 20th, 2022. This outting is actually my first date with Anthony, made possible because of AJ. He was working at Surf at the time and needed to break in some jetskis. It was my first time ever on the lake, I was a little nervous. I'm sure AJ could tell and gave me some words of encouragement to feel more comfortable as well as lighten things up for Anthony and I (you know how first dates are kinda awkward, especially being a passenger on a jetski haha) "don't be afraid to hold on to him, he doesn't bite. he's a great guy." He took care of everyone with sandwiches, water, & gatorade for lunch. His personality really came out when Anthony and I were pulling into a no wake zone and AJ is fully sending it towards us and turns last minute to splash us. Anthony was worried I was upset but I was laughing. It was a great day and a fond memory, thank you AJ
