Adonis's obituary

In Loving Memory of Adonis Johnson February 27, 2010 – September 18, 2025

With shattered hearts and deep sorrow, we mourn the loss of Adonis Johnson, who was tragically taken from us on September 18th, 2025, at 10:03 PM in the southside of San Antonio, Texas. He was just 15 years old.

Adonis was more than a name—he was a presence. A young man with a magnetic smile, a sharp wit, and a heart full of dreams. He had a way of making people feel seen, heard, and valued. Whether he was joking around with friends, helping his little cousins with homework, or sketching designs in his notebook, Adonis carried a quiet brilliance that lit up every room he entered.

He loved music, sneakers, and late-night talks about the future. He dreamed of becoming a designer, of building something that would outlive him. He was a protector to his younger siblings, a loyal friend, and a son who made his mother proud every single day.

His life was cut short by senseless violence—a tragedy that has left his family, friends, and community grieving and searching for answers. But Adonis’s story will not end here. His memory will live on in every person he touched, in every laugh shared, and in every act of love done in his name.

He is survived by his mother, Tasha Johnson; his siblings, Amaya and Elijah; his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a wide circle of friends who will carry his spirit forward.

A memorial service will be held at Southside Lions Park on Sunday at 6 PM, followed by a candlelight vigil to honor Adonis’s life and legacy. All are welcome to come share stories, prayers, and love.

Rest easy, Adonis. You were taken too soon, but you will never be forgotten. Your light lives on in us.
