Adonis's obituary

Adonis Brown Sr., 74, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed on November 10, 2023.

Adonis Brown was born September 19, 1949. To the Late Charles Brown Sr. and the late Fredricka Lee Brown, at Divine Providence Hospital on the North Side of Pittsburgh, Pa. He was a student of Pittsburgh Public Schools, where he attended Conroy Elementary, Knoxville Junior High and went on to graduate from Carrick High School. While at Carrick he was a member of the Track and Field team where his record in track remains unbroken to this very day!!

As a child Adonis enjoyed various sports and listening to many genres of music(rock and roll, jazz and R&B). He had a musical album collection that was second to none, that is priced to be in the tens of thousands of dollars. Adonis was an avid photographer and could always be found taking pictures of friends and family. Being the oldest child of his mother, who was a widower, Adonis became the family provider. Upon going to the military, he would send a portion of his income home monthly to ensure his family’s needs were met.

Upon graduation Adonis was sworn into the United States Army, where he was a Vulcan Military Tank Mechanic. He was stationed at Red Stone Arsenal Camp, in Alabama, 1st Cavalry Armored Division in Schwabach, Germany, and later Fort Hood Texas, where he met the love of his life. Pamela Pricer. They returned to Pittsburgh, where they solidified their love by uniting in marriage and brought forth 3 children; Adonis Jr., Candice, and Derrick.

Adonis was employed and later retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections. He was a devout STEELERS fan, who never missed a game.

He also loved to cook. He was a self proclaimed “Grill Master” whose ribs and brisket were top tier! He loved family trips to Morraine State Park, where he enjoyed camping and spending time with his family.

Adonis Brown Jr., Candice Davis, and Derrick Brown. His siblings; Pastor Melvin Brown, Valerie Hobson, and Greg Brown. Grandchildren; Alexis, Nijah, Dorian, Lamarr, Adonis III, Aryonna, Lorenzo, Mia, Ameir, and Caiah.
