Adela Elizabeth Gabriel, affectionately known as Del to those who knew her best, passed from this life on January 27, 2024, at the age of 52 in Vallejo, California. Born on September 18, 1971, in the Philippines, Adela's life was one marked by a profound love for the natural world and a deep-seated kindness that touched all who had the pleasure of her acquaintance.

Adela's early years were spent in the halls of Vallejo High School, after which she embarked on a fulfilling career that spanned 18 years with Neiman Marcus and 12 years with the Marin Farmer's Market. Her dedication to her work was paralleled only by her dedication to her hobbies, which included yoga, cycling, and hiking. An avid gardener, Adela's love for planting and nurturing life was evident in the beautiful blooms that surrounded her home. She took pleasure in caring for her hummingbirds, and often found comfort and joy each time she was visited. She was an avid foodie, enjoyed fine dining, and indulged in ice cream every opportunity she found.

She is survived by a family who adored her: father, Peter Gabriel; mother, Erlinda Gabriel; sister, Daisy Nunez; brother-in-law, Martin Nunez; brother, Israel Gabriel; sister-in-law, Lauren Gabriel; and nephews, Simon and Josef Nunez, as well as additional extended family. Adela's generous spirit and her gentle soul will be sorely missed by her family and by the many friends she made throughout her life.

A Celebration of Life to honor Adela's memory will be held at the Brazilian Room in Tilden Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Adela's memory to the American Cancer Society.

The arrangements for Adela's farewell are being handled by McCune Garden Chapel in Vacaville, California.
