Background

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Never Alone Widows. Randi was provided an opportunity to join this organization at the beginning of March to their annual convention, Invited. She was provided a Widows of Heroes scholarship, which is why she is adding this as charity to donate to in lieu of flowers, if you are interested. Mission 22 is another wonderful organization and close to our Military hearts. Contribute to Never Alone Widows Right arrow Contribute to Mission 22 Right arrow

Frequently asked questions

Answered by a team member at Mission 22

  • What is your mission?

Mission 22 supports active service members, Veterans, and military families through wellness programs, social impact initiatives and community engagement.

  • How are donations used?

More than 85% of donations go towards our programs.

  • What can be done with a $100 donation?

Every dollar counts and is greatly appreciated.

  • What progress has been made already thanks to your donors?

Since our inception in 2013, we have supported more than 10,000 participants. Our flagship program, Recovery + Resiliency is finding amazing results like a 26.7% reduction in depressive symptoms and a 21.2% reduction in PTSD symptoms.

  • What is the history of your organization?

Our inaugural initiative, Elder Heart Inc., (the name you’ll find on our 501c3 designation), founded in 2013 by three Veterans after the suicide of a fellow brother-in-arms, connected Veterans and civilians to create public art that raised awareness of issues Veterans face, including Post-Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury, and suicide risk.

As Elder Heart grew, we ran an awareness campaign called #Mission22, in which 22's all over the country (NASCAR's #22 car driver, for example) were adopted and spoke out about issues Veterans face after returning home. That campaign was overwhelmingly successful; in 2015 Elder Heart rebranded as Mission 22. We now operate in all 50 states and internationally, reaching Veterans remotely in the comfort of their own homes.

Mission 22’s - 13 employees are active duty Soldiers, Veterans, military family members, health coaches, mental health professionals, and have direct experience supporting Veterans. Our board members are all former and current service members.
