Adam's obituary

Adam Nolan Jessup, of Pueblo, CO, was unexpectedly called home to be with our lord in his final resting place at the young age of 48.

Adam is the son of Rita Richardson (Najar) and Kenneth Richardson. Adam was born on March 18, 1975 and was the first child and was later joined by his two sisters Crystal and JJ. There was nothing more important to Adam than his family, whom he took great pride in and loved his role as big brother.

Adam grew up with his family between New Mexico, Colorado and Iowa, ultimately calling Colorado home. He spent the majority of his high school years at Wayne Community High School in Corydon, IA where he met some of his best friends. He returned to CO to finish his schooling and it was there where Adam would welcome his 3 children Gabriel, Larissa and Elijah. These three would become Adam’s greatest joys and his most proud accomplishments in his life.

Adam accomplished so many things in his life and one that he was most proud of was serving as a Wildland Fire Crewman. During this time he supported firefighters in both Colorado and Arizona wildland fires. This position suited Adam so well as he loved the outdoors as that was his preferred place to be and serving to protect it gave him a sense of pride that he truly reveled in. Adam also loved jobs as a server, it was this position that gave him a connection with his community. He loved people and interacting with those around him. That was just the tip of the things he would do in his lifetime. He lived to serve and spent so much time doing just that. He served his communities as an advocate for the homeless and always giving back where he could. Before Adam’s passing he was enrolled to become an addiction counselor and a barber.

Adam had many joys in his life. He loved food and enjoyed trying new things, he also loved cooking and doing so for his family especially breakfast and during the holidays. Adams' love for music spread to those around him as he consistently wanted to share whatever he was listening to and enjoyed attending as many concerts as he could, his preferences included rock and reggae/ska specifically bands such as Sublime, DirtyHeads, Soundgarden, RHCP, Ozzy and so many more of the greats! Adam loved fitness and trying new ways to stay in shape from cardio, weightlifting and even yoga once introduced by his sister Crystal.

Adam had a true and genuine soul that desired nothing more than love and acceptance. He wanted nothing more than his family to be happy and healthy. Adam found true peace and serenity outdoors but more so when surrounded by family. He had an adventurous heart and spent much of his time exploring the world around him. His loss is felt deeply in his family and the community around him. He was loved by so many but no one more than his mom Rita who shared a bond of unconditional love, support, encouragement and acceptance.

Adam is preceded in death by his Grandpa Joe Najar, Grandparents Karl & Violet Richardson, several Great Aunts & Uncles and his childhood dog Spike. He is survived by his parents Kenneth and Rita (Najar) Richardson, his sisters Crystal (Yuri & Oliva), JJ (Nate & Kirsten), his Grandmother Margaret (Ron) Osborn, his children Gabriel, Larissa and Elijah, and multiple aunts, uncles, cousins and extensive friends. The world grew a little dimmer in Adam’s passing and we ask that everyone be a light of kindness and love to honor his memory.
