I’ve thought a lot about this since Adam passed away and I think I’m ready to say a few things about my friend. Firstly, and just for his family and friends in Arizona, I wanted you to know (if you didn’t know already) that Adam meant a very great deal to group of friends all over the world. For the last 12 years Adam has been a beating heart for a group of gamers, to which I proudly belong. From all over the US, to Holland, to Ireland, to Greece and here in the UK, where I sit writing this.
Although we never met in the real world, Adam and I spoke about all things. We did this of course playing games, sometimes as part of the group, sometimes just the two of us. We played Star Trek online, Red Dead, Star Wars, GTA (Gay), Warhammer to name just a few. We laughed our ass’s off playing, trolling others, winning and losing in PVP, we had a blast. We dissected movies, TV shows, current affairs, conspiracies (Adam loved a conspiracy!), news, politics, guns, bikes and boats. The WhatsApp Group (which he started) was never quiet, and I was even called upon once or twice for sartorial advice for Mr Gregory.
Most of all though, we spoke about our lives, our families, and our children. Over these many years of gaming, we’ve both seen our kids grow up, mine are about the same age and I know just how much Adam loved Alaric and Ayva. He spoke of them always.
I am still mourning for my friend and miss him, I know for a fact we all do. He lived life to the full and despite this sadness I am delighted and feel blessed to have known him.
Rest in Peace buddy
Rich
