Dear Deryl and Family - Our family prayer is that GOD provides you all comfort during this season of change. We didn't know Adam personally, but our interactions at Winship allowed us to connect with both of you. His peaceful spirit was inspiring during our challenging season. We know GOD's eternal gates were open to him and we look forward to the day when we will see him again.

Love and Prayers,
Greco and Janine Johnson
Dear Brenda, Deryl, Jennifer, Caroline, Andy, Tammy and Alec, My words fall short at trying to express how deeply sorry I am for each of you. My heart broke watching this tragedy unfold. May you find peace through God and by knowing what a beautiful son, husband, father and brother Adam was. I just loved seeing your strength and love Andy with your brother through all of this. You all are just a beautiful family and I continue to pray for comfort and peace for each of you. Heaven certainly received a beautiful angel and I am sure MeMaw was right there with arms wide open. Love always, Dianne.
Mrs. Duncan,
We are so sorry you are having to go through this challenging time and pray that you and your sweet girl are covered in grace and peace. No words can mean enough. Presley wanted you to know she misses you and loves you.

Out condolences,
Presley Carter and family
Dear Brenda, Deryl, Andy, Tammy, Alec, Jennifer and Caroline,

Adam’s lasting imprint on all of you and so many more will last forever. He was a very special person. My deepest sympathy goes out to you all. I will continue to pray for your family for peace and comfort.
Love
Donna
"Each man's life touches so many other lives. When he isn't around he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?"
This quote from "It's a Wonderful Life" rings so true. There's a really big hole left for all of us that knew Adam that somehow we must fill with the memories of the times we shared with him. I loved trading jabs when we talked about the Jackets and the Dawgs. I loved celebrating Christmas with his family at the Duncan Christmas Party. I remember playing with him when he was a kid every Sunday at my parents home after church. I really admired how he worked hard to achieve such success at work. He was a special guy in so many ways. I'm going to miss my nephew.
You were an amazing husband and father to Jennifer and Caroline. You fought the good fight and now have won the race. We are comforted knowing you are no longer suffering, but will miss you dearly. To Jennifer – you gave unselfishly during this difficult time putting your family’s needs above your own. I hope that with each passing day, the pain gets a little better and the sun shines a little brighter. To Caroline – you are so lucky that you had such a great daddy. He taught you so much and we will make sure that his memory lives on. We will always be here for you both. Adam, I’ll miss giving you a hard time about your Yellow Jackets and if EVER the day comes again that they beat UGA on a Thanksgiving Saturday, I will look to the heavens and know that you just might have had something to do with it. And, as our family fantasy football CHAMPION this year – I vote we rename it Adam’s Fantasy League.
Adam, you will be missed. When you beat me this year in our family fantasy football championship game, I could not have lost to a better man. Yes, even though you were a Tech fan! :) Thanks for letting me join you for a portion of this journey. While your struggle is over my brother, I know your wife Jennifer and daughter Caroline will grieve every day that you are gone. Jennifer, who spent the last 9 months taking care of you, will wake up missing you and reaching out for you. Jennifer and Caroline, you are loved and blessed and I admire you both for how you dealt with this tragedy. I know that God will write on these days, Well done my good and faithful servant. Your heart will continue to hurt but you will always treasure the memories that no one can take away. Jennifer, you are a hero to me.

Grace and peace to you all. Adam, you are suffering no more.
The word “hope” has special meaning. It brings us comfort when we’re sad and gives us strength when we’re down. In 2018, before the pandemic, riots, and before my son, Adam became ill, I wrote about hope. A year later, the whole world changed and hope was tested. Through it all, God’s message of hope has seen us through some hard times and brought us comfort. These words are dedicated to Adam, who placed his hope in things eternal and received everlasting peace and comfort. (Psalm 23:4)

EVEN WHEN, by Adam’s dad

When our spirit is broken and it seems there’s no hope then
When the pain deep inside us, no friend can know
When the burden’s so heavy, we can no longer bear it
When hope seems hopeless, he will comfort our soul.

Even when our faith is shaken and life takes it’s toll
We are never forsaken by the one who loves us so
We’re not alone in our sorrow, he’s there I know
When hope seems hopeless, he will comfort our soul.

Just lean on the savior when there is no other
When there’s no one to turn to, when there’s no place to go
Through the valley, he’ll lead you, your hand he will hold
When hope seems hopeless, he will comfort your soul.

Deryl, Brenda, Andy, Tammy, and Alec, You know we love you and that Adam’s passing leaves a huge hole in our hearts. Adam enjoyed life, loved God and his family (especially his darling Caroline), and was an example of strength, courage, and faith as he battled cancer. We are comforted knowing Adam is in his eternal home, singing in the choir and probably doing a little dancing too.
I’m so sorry! Adam was so funny and caring! He was a great friend to many and no doubt a great father! I have so many childhood memories with Adam hanging out with my brother. Adam was just a part of our family. Praying for all of you!
We will miss Adam very much but we know he is with his Lord and Savior with a healthy new body. We are blessed by his Godly life and his wonderful friendship over the past 20 years. We will see you again in heaven, Adam. Our constant love and prayers are with your precious family.
Brenda, Deryl, Andy & Family,
Just wanted to reachout to let you all know what a joy it was to visit and catch up with you all this last week... sharing in the sweet memories of times gone by.
Will be committed to being in prayer as you gather to celebrate Adam’s Life🙏🏻
Much Love & Big Hugs,
Les Lambert
Hard to believe this is real. My heart is broken for the loss of a great friend who was always felt like a brother to me. All my love and condolences to Jennifer, Caroline, Andy, Deryl, Brenda and the rest of the family.
A Life and Prayer Fulfilled" by Brenda & Deryl Duncan

When a new baby arrives, anxious parents can only pray that their “bundle of joy” will grow up to become a good person, know happiness, and experience love. Too quickly, little “cuties” become silly teenagers and before long, they must make important decisions for themselves. Fortunately, our son, Adam made a life changing decision when he joined Pastor Rodney Hall’s youth fellowship group. The impact of that decision was immeasurable and set his life on a path of faith, supported by life-long Christian friends who share a common bond.

As Adam reached adulthood, he continued to walk in faith and the Lord blessed him with his own loving family and a beautiful daughter whom he adored. He was a great father and husband. He coached Caroline’s soccer team, taught her tennis, how to skate, how to ride a bike, and how to navigate the thorny paths on their adventurous hikes to the creek. He took her to Sunday School and escorted her to father-daughter dances. Caroline proudly displays the trophy he won in the individual dance contest. It sits among her prize possessions as a reminder of all the fun times they had. His undying love and positive influence will guide Caroline as she makes the right decisions in her life.

Tragically, at a young age of forty-one, Adam’s wonderful like on earth ended. Words cannot express how much we loved him and how much we’ll miss his big heart, funny personality, and daily phone calls. Not only was he a great husband, dad, and brother, but he was a great son, a best friend and a hero who battled his illness with courage. Our only comfort is knowing that the path he chose as a young man will led him to an eternal home in heaven where there is no sickness or pain and that we’ll soon rejoice with our healthy and happy Adam again.

Although, many of Adam’s hopes and dreams were cut short, he was more than able to fulfill the prayers of his parents made forty-one years earlier. He was a good man, he brought happiness to those around him, and he was dearly loved.

We are forever grateful for his life, his devoted family, his friends, neighbors, co-workers, churches, nurses, social workers, and caring strangers for their amazing love and support. Special thanks to his wife, Jennifer and her family, his brother, Andy, sister-in-law, Tammy, nephew, Alec, best friend, David, and to pastor/mentor, Rodney Hall. He loved you all.

Mom & Dad (Brenda & Deryl Duncan)
