Ada's obituary
Ada will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Dana (Janette), David and Douglas (Johanna); daughters, Linda Pizarro Crawford and Lisa; grandchildren, Derek (Melissa) and Kristen Pizarro (Michael Prosalik), Eric Crawford; and great-grandchildren, Dylan and Drew; her twin sister, Anna (Spahl) Hoffman and numerous other family members and friends.
Ada was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Ricardo Pizarro, and her parents, Theodore and Martha (Berthold) Spahl, and her brother, Charles R. Spahl.
A 1947 graduate of Bay Path Secretarial School, Longmeadow MA (now Bay Path University) (Executive Secretary Diploma), she was Class Secretary and Social Chairman for class events as well as a member of the Glee Club. Ada was member of the Honor Society and on the Dean’s List for the entire time and was honored with a New York City trip upon graduation for this accomplishment. Her first employment was with U.S. Envelope. She married Ricardo Pizarro (Springfield College, MA) in 1949 before becoming a homemaker in 1951. She returned to the business world in the 1980s, working for a law firm and an office supplies company in Baltimore, MD before her retirement. She was a long-term congregant and active volunteer at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, Catonsville, MD and St. John’s Episcopal Church, Ellicott City, MD before relocating to Florida. She loved ballroom dancing and polkas and danced almost weekly, wintering in Florida, and walking for exercise.
A private service will be held at the family’s request.
