Aaron's obituary
Aaron Daniel Zula, 50, departed this life on November 27, 2023. Born on October 26, 1973, he lived a life filled with joy. Aaron had a unique way of filling a room with humor. His gentle spirit, fun nature and weird sayings will be deeply missed.
Aaron's existence was illuminated by his unwavering commitment to his loved ones, especially his wife, Stephanie Marie Zula and daughter, Avalon Marie Zula. According to Avalon, her father was “her best friend, father and teacher all in one. You taught me how to become the person I am right now." Avalon learned to love and celebrate the everyday joys with her dad. Some of her most cherished memories are riding with her dad when he would Uber or Doordash; talking, laughing and listening to loud music together. Aaron understood Avalon more than anyone in the world. They both loved their discussions about friends, school, and scaring off the boys when they came round! Aaron deeply loved and cherished his family. His memory will comfort and sustain his family; and all who were privileged to know and love Aaron.
Aaron was born in Arcadia, California and moved several times during his childhood. He spent most of his early life in West Linn, Oregon and Mesa, Arizona. Aaron's brothers remember their childhood memories fondly of swimming in the river and spending time at the cabin skiing in central Oregon. The youngest of three boys, Aaron was always playful and caring, but also could be a little mischievous! These traits led to many humorous and memorable adventures. Aaron moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2002 where he made many friends and memories. Decorating the house for Christmas, ice skating and sledding in the local park were some favorite activities.
Aaron leaves behind his wife of 18 years, Stephanie Marie Zula; daughter Avalon Marie Zula of Minneapolis, MN; his daughter Tori Elayne Zula of Oklahoma; son Austin Aaron (Tori) Zula and grandchildren Owen Zane Zula and Lenny Charles Zula of Arizona; his parents Emil (Cork) and Elayne Zula of Mesa, Az; his brother Steve Zula of Mesa, AZ ; his brother Roger (Melissa) Zula of Pella, IA; nieces and nephews, McKinley (Zula) Fopma, Madysen (Zula) Groenendyk, Bradyn Zula, Jackson Zula, Emilia Zula and Liam Zula.
Let us honor his life by cherishing the moments we shared with him and continuing to find joy in the everyday. A celebration of life to honor his memory will be celebrated at a later date in Minneapolis, MN.
