Aaron's obituary

In Loving Memory of Aaron Michael Satter

March 6, 1984 – End of 2025

Aaron Michael Satter, beloved son, brother, friend, athlete, and devoted doggie dad, passed away toward the end of 2025. Born on March 6, 1984, Aaron was the youngest child of Jimmy Dale Satter, who recently passed on July 11, 2025, and Robin Ann Gascon, who preceded him in death many years earlier. He is survived by his sisters: Tamara Smith, Kristian Smith and his half-sister Ashley Lanoie-DeHaven.

From childhood, Aaron was a natural athlete. Football was his passion—something he shared with his dad—and he lived it wholeheartedly. A proud Cowboys fan, he played Pop Warner through high school and into college, always wearing his number 44 with pride. His college journey began at Feather River College in Quincy, California, and continued at the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas, where he played football and earned his Associate’s Degree.

He built a respected bartending career in the Reno, Nevada community, where he became a memorable figure at the Little Waldorf Saloon—“The Wall”—and later at Dotty’s. At “The Wall,” he was known by many names: Snake, Bartender, Waldorf’s Resident Home Boy, Our Dream – Your Nightmare, and 3‑Time All‑American Stratego Champion. Even in his private nature, he left an impression wherever he worked.

Dogs were among the greatest loves of Aaron’s life. His beloved pitbull, Loki, was his constant companion, but his heart also held the memory of his previous dogs, Jade and Cash, whom he loved just as fiercely. He often said, “My dog’s orange eyes are breathtaking! This old soul has been with me for a minute! So blessed and thankful for him!” Aaron cared for his dogs with a devotion that sometimes exceeded the care he gave himself.

While most knew Aaron as a homebody, those who truly knew him understood how fun he was to be around. He had a warm sense of humor and a way of making ordinary moments feel lighter. He was deeply loyal—if you were loyal to him, he would stand by you without hesitation…truly one of the kindest hearts. He was also remarkably resourceful; his dad often marveled at how he could live off just $100 a month and somehow make it work. And through it all, Aaron was an extremely hard worker—whether he was banging out smoothies at Surf City Squeeze with his sister Kristian, hustling cocktails behind the bar, or showing the sportsmanship and leadership he brought to every football team he played on. He navigated life entirely on his own terms—quietly capable, endlessly adaptable, and always true to himself.

Aaron will be remembered for his humor, his independence, his loyalty, his love for his dogs, and the quiet but powerful way he moved through the world. His absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but his spirit lives on in the memories of those who truly knew him. May he be reunited with his dad, their bond unbroken and everlasting.
