Aaron's obituary

Aaron Ryan Fulkerson, 44, of Helendale, California, passed away on April 14, 2024. He was born on September 30, 1979, in Toledo, Ohio.

Aaron had a variety of jobs throughout his life, but he was most fondly remembered for his long tenure as a meat cutter at Stater Brothers Inc. in the Apple Valley and surrounding Southern California Stater Brothers stores.

In his early life, Aaron loved baseball and played for the McKinley Hornets in elementary school. He was a Cub Scout, enjoyed riding bikes, and sang with the Royal Choir in high school. Aaron also played football during his first year at Start High School. Raised in Toledo until his junior year of high school, he then moved to Lupton, Michigan, where he attended and graduated from Ogemaw Heights High School in 1997.

Aaron had a passion for fast sports cars and motorcycles. He also had a great love for gourmet cooking, which brought joy to his family and friends. Aaron loved to draw and tattoo, and he had given tattoos to himself and his wife.

In 2001, Aaron moved to Apple Valley, California, to get to know his dad, Brian Fulkerson, and made a life for himself there. After moving to California, Aaron joined the Maniak Group, with whom he rebuilt cars.

Aaron was married to Ondrea Fulkerson, an OB-GYN nurse, and the love of his life, who also passed away on the same day. They were married on October 2, 2016. Aaron took on the role of stepdad to Ondrea's three beautiful daughters: Hailey, who joined the military; Kyra, who moved to Colorado with her biological father to finish school; and London, whom Aaron affectionately called "Nugget" in return, Nugget affectionately called Aaron her "Deeda." Aaron enjoyed fishing and often took Nugget on fishing trips.

In March 2019, Aaron experienced a freak accident that resulted in severe head injuries, requiring him to relearn many basic skills. Due to his disabilities, it was difficult for him to find work, so he was the main caretaker for Ondrea's youngest daughter until late 2023 or early 2024, when a company decided to hire him. He planned to stay with the company for a long time. He was still employed with the company at the time of death.

Aaron loved his family with all his heart. Even after moving to California, he kept in close contact with his mother, Jane, Stepdad, Jim, his older sister, Jabreinna, his little brother, Kyle, Stepbrothers Philip and David, Grandmother, Merianne Noe, and Uncle Randy Fulkerson along with his niece and nephew's, (Jabreinna’s children), on a weekly, sometimes daily basis. Aaron would spend time with Brian, his dad, Stepmother Joan Fulkerson, Grandmother Beverly Todd, his brother Tom, and sister Liz. Aaron also spent a lot of time and holidays with Ondrea’s family, which he considered to be his own family too. Ondrea’s mother Iris loved Aaron like her own son as well.

Aaron was proceeded in death by his great-grandparents the Hawks, Glens, and Mehan's. Grandfather, Ernie Fulkerson, grandmother, Margaret “Nana” Fulkerson, Grandfather, Gordan Mehan, Grandmother Shirley Mehan, Grandmother, Beverly Todd, Aunt Sheila Byrd, aunt Mary Fulkerson and Cousin Christy Lewis, and Tyler Lewis. Aaron passed alongside his wife Ondrea, April 14,2024. Shortly after, on June 12,2024, his Uncle Barry Fulkerson passed away from Emphysema. And July 9th,2024 his father Brian Fulkerson passed after losing his ten-year lengthy battle with colon/stomach cancer.
