Aaliyah Haughton, 22, of New York, NY passed away on August 25, 2001 after a plane crash. She was surrounded by her family and loved ones.

After Aaliyah attended Detroit High School , she went to study for Fine and Performing Arts, and accomplished a licensing dal as a teenager , her uncle, Barry Hankerson was married to a soul singer , Gladys Knight, who invited Aaliyah to perform with her during five-night stint in Las Vegas at age 11. Aaliyah was an American singer , actress , and model . Aaliyah's song "Try Again" earned her a grammy nomination this year for her best female R&B vocalist. She was loved by many , family , friends , and fans . And had a personality everyone cherished . Aaliyah may not be here but may her legacy and name never be forgotten .
