I am so sorry for the loss of Winter. I never got to meet her but she was an incredible soul that reached so many people around the world. I hope you’re swimming in Heaven, sweet girl.

I didn't have the opportunity to meet Winter. I only watched her in the movies Dolphin Tale and Dolphin Tale part 2, These 2 movies about Winter I found to be very special and showed how special Winter was and how Clearwater took all the necessary steps. to give Winter the best care possible

Several years ago, my husband & I took our little grandson Cadence, who was about 7 at the time, to see Winter. He had seen the movie and knew her story. It was very crowded that day and it was hard to get close to the railing to see her and how they put on her "tail". After a while, they put her over into a separate tank, and we walked around to it to take one last look. She did her famous whistle and our grandson's eyes popped out of his little face. He said, "Maybe she's whistling at me" He's 17 now and still remembers that day when he saw Winter and heard her whistle.

The most fun I ever had with Winter was just watching her. To me, as a medical professional seeing how she coped with her disability was so great. I can only hope people can do the same.

I first saw Winter in Dolphin Tale and the second movie as well! I just adored her! She was amazing! Despite her disability, she was full of life and inspiration to all! I had the opportunity to visit her when I came down to Clearwater! I actually stayed a few blocks away and went to see her that following day. I watched her play and was able to get some great pictures of her! I still watch the movies now and then and can’t believe she is gone! I have her saved on my phone screen! I also have a tattoo of her on my ankle! I will never forget her and think of her often! I am a disabled veteran and work with veterans who also have disabilities as well! I encourage them to live their lives and remind them that they can live and be proud of their service to our country and just live! Not to let the disability change who they are and they can inspire others just like Winter did! You all are in my thoughts and prayers!

My nephews and I were able to see Winter and her friends for 7 years...during our vacations to St. Pete, being at CMA was always on our "list, since our first visit to CMA." About 4 years ago, while still in the "old" tank, the CMA staff announced that Winter was not feeling well that day, and would not be in the main tank, but in her own tank, by herself....my nephews and I went over to see her and talk with her, thru the wooden partition with "peep windows,"....Winter just looked at us, listened to us, as if she understood that we wanted her to get better, that we were sorry she was sick, and that we loved her....our hearts went out to her that day....and, we talked about how we were so glad that the staff were understanding and did not require her to be in the main tank...we talked about how that was one of the many reasons we love CMA: all the animals are truly loved and not required to perform for humans...like at other places...(My nephews were 10 and 11 at the time... they are now 15 & 16, and we saw Winter last summer in her new tank)....we have since talked of how blessed we are to have seen her 7 times in our lives, and we talk about her strength and gentleness, and those sweet eyes of hers.... We love her and all of her friends at CMA...May Winter Rest In Peace....with love from West Virginia....xoxoxo
