Tom.      Was. A.    Great.       Man.     He.     Will.      Be.     Missed
I coached Tom in dragon boating. I can’t pinpoint one specific memory but just many moments in the boat and afterwards at coffee that I got to enjoy his company. A man of humour, of heart, of empathy and above all, a man of integrity   Such a great loss. My sincerest condolences
Tom was a wonderful Grandragons teammate. He treated everyone with respect and kindness. He was always calm and reasonable, and he was interesting to talk to over coffee. He was always willing to be helpful, too - my paddle alone bears three repair jobs by Tom! He is sadly missed, and my deepest condolences go to our teammate Gail, and to the whole family.

My deepest condolences to the family.  I have very fond memories of my Uncle Tom.  I will always remember his kindness and a very special Easter of gifts for my just acquired car.  Thank you to my Aunty Gail also for that Easter.  Love forever,

Pandora

Very saddened to hear of Tom’s passing.  Tom was a very dedicated family man, providing constant love and support. He will be missed by many, his humor and sincere care for family and others were always core values.  Tom was talented trumpet player.  I recall one evening on a family camping trip to Jasper Park, circa 1970, a bunch of us were sitting fire-side and Tom played a love song, dedicated to the love of his life Gail.  Nicely done indeed.  The fact he woke up half the campground well that was another matter.  Via Con Dios Tom.
We am so sorry to hear this. Tom was such a fine teammate at Senior C DB crew (you, as well). He seemed to be part of the "heart" of the crew and made us (and others from the Fraser Valley) feel so very welcome as true contributors to it's success. Cheryl and I send our condolences to you and your family and friends and hope that the many memories of Tom will help to fill the void of his passing and ease your pain.

Our family are all so sad about Tom's passing, as we had many shared experiences with Tom & his family over the years.  Our daughter Ashley and son Brent worked with Tom & Gail in Inuvik, our oldest son James and Tom's son Robbie worked for BeauDril out of Tuktoyaktuk at the same time; Traci came up to Tuktoyaktuk and also worked there; and Marion got to meet all of them at different family get togethers over the years.  Gone but not forgotten, Tom will always be in our memory as a fine friend and great colleague!

I had the good fortune to work with Tom Oliver on 4 different exciting and challenging jobs; firstly working out of Tuktoyaktuk on Beaufort Sea Oil & Gas Exploration for almost a decade; secondly on an International assignment to the Komi Republic of Russia, working on a Russian/Canadian joint venture Oil & Gas Exploration project for 4 years, then we went back to Inuvik and both Tom & Gail worked with me at Arctic Oil & Gas Service involved in projects all over the Mackenzie Delta and the Beaufort Sea coast, and the last job was on a Suncor project working for Fluor Daniels on the building of a large TransAlta Gas Turbine C0-Generation plant to power Suncor's expansion plans.   Not many get to work in such exciting and interesting projects in these remote places in the world.  Jim Guthrie

Surprised and saddened by the sudden passing of my mom’s brother.  Tom was a gracious uncle.  I’ve enjoyed a number of visits with your family through the years for family events. May your family find peace, comfort, and closeness during this time.  All my love, Tanya
Our deepest condolences to the whole family. Tom was a wonderful man with a heart of gold. ❤️‍🩹

Tom was a steady force on our dragonboat paddling team and a gentle soul who was much loved and respected. He and Gail always took care of new members and made them feel welcome. Tom was also a go-to for advice on fixing things. In fact, just on Sunday when I was having trouble unlocking a curtain rod, my first thought was I will take it to practice on Monday and ask Tom how to solve this; little did I know he was already in a coma 😢

Rest in peace, mighty Tom. I will miss you so much!  My deepest condolences to Gail and all of Tom’s family ❤️‍🩹😘

I have wonderful memories of Tom. He had such a zest for life.  He (and Gail) contributed so much to the GrandDragons. Tom was always good humored and had time for everyone. He really loved his family - my condolences to them all.  RIP.

Sorry to hear about Tom’s passing. A great long term crew mate in the Grand Dragons team always with thoughtful, interesting conversation after practice sessions. Will be sadly missed.
