We regretfully announce the passing of Steven Lynn, 66, of Wayzata, MN. Steve passed away on April 30, 2023, after a four year battle with cancer.

Steve was born on June 29, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois two blocks from Wrigley Field as he liked to say and he was a life long Chicago Cubs fan. He received a PhD in Microbiology from the University of Illinois and spent time as a postdoctoral student at Harvard Medical School. His first career spanned about 25 years in pharmaceutical drug development. He met his wife Mary in Maryland and they were together for 30 years.

In 1994, Steve and Mary moved to Gig Harbor, Washington where they lived for 27 years. After retiring from the pharmaceutical industry, Steve purchased a wine store, Water to Wine, in Gig Harbor and began his second career. He was passionate about wine and food and loved educating others about wine and wine and food pairings. In 2008, he and his business partner, Stephanie, started their restaurant, Morso. For over 10 years, he sat at the end of the bar developing recipes and finding interesting wine to pair with their food. He was always ready to help pick out a bottle of wine and share his knowledge of wine and food. He also enjoyed music and art and was able to share that with others by bringing a variety of musicians and artists into Morso. He was a strong supporter of the Gig Harbor community and was the founding president of the Gig Harbor Main Street Program. Through the years of owning businesses in Gig Harbor he made many long lasting friendships and he cherished each and every one.

He loved spending time with Mary. He especially enjoyed their trips to northern Minnesota to fish and spend time at the family cabin. In 2021, he and Mary moved to Minnesota to be near her family.

In every aspect of his life, he had incredible strength and drive. He fought his battle with cancer with the same drive and determination.
