I am not sure about whether this recipe was a favorite of Steve's but I still occasionally chuck about Kevin sharing how much effort Steve put into perfecting his polenta french fries.
We were deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Steve. Beth and I, spent many memorable evenings at Morso, often hanging out with Steve as we all sat together at the bar. He had an incredible talent for teaching about various wines. I recall one time Steve had us taste champaign from different glasses, showing how the shape of the glass affected the taste. Then there was potato chips & bubbles. New years. The sake night. The port night. And Frico, lots of Frico. You will be missed Steve. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mary, his family and his loved ones during this difficult time.
Mary, I’m so saddened to have heard of Steve’s passing. I loved your love for each other, I loved Steve’s passion for music and art, I loved it when he taught us about pairing wine and food and the joy it brought him to see others get it! I was at Morso tonight and reminisced about the hard times of opening Morso but the good times will never be forgotten. He was one of a kind and will always be remembered in that corner stool at the bar. He wasn’t there tonight and I missed him terribly knowing he won’t ever be there again. He is a Gig Harbor Legacy! He lit up the room when he talked about his Mary so I can’t imagine your loss. Thank you for sharing him with us at Morso. God bless you and give you strength Mary.
Sandee and I wish to offer our deepest condolences. We met Steve a couple times at the wine bar and you could tell how proud he was of that second career! It was a wonderful place and so involved with the community. The pictures say it all and what a great tribute. When I hear the Cubs score, I'll always be thinking of Steve and catch that walleye!
I never met Steve, but I went to his wine bar on one of my very few date nights. It was great, everything was great there, and we didn't have kids then! He will be remembered and I am so sorry for your loss. Deep condolence to Mary and families. He is free now and may he rest in peace.
RIP Steve, I cherish the times we shared and all the wonderful knowledge of our shared passion for all things delicious and fine. You were such a fine mentor.
My deepest condolences to Mary and family on Steve's passing. Steve was instrumental in helping me and Stuart when we first opened the winery. I will always have fond memories of walking in to Morso and seeing Steve at the bar on his computer. May he rest in peace.
Rest in peace Steve. You impacted my life for the better and miss you dearly. I am grateful to have known you not only as an owner but a boss, a mentor and as a friend. You were simply the best! I cheers to you with fancy bubbles, tete de moine cheese and crunchy potato chips!
