I was deeply saddened to learn about the news regarding Stephan. I am heartbroken over your loss and continue to pray for you and your family.

I have fond memories of Stephan and the rest of your family from the summer I spent at your home as a teenager. I remember how much Stephan appreciated it when I brought home Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal for breakfast. I also cherish the countless trips we took to Leakey over the years.

I will always remember Stephan as the brilliant chess player who once defeated me when he was just a kid. I had played a lot of chess and thought I would take it easy on him, only to find him beating me in just five moves! He looked up at me with a grin and declared, “Checkmate!” I was astonished and stared at the chessboard in disbelief. I don’t believe he kept up with chess later in life, but he was a pro as a little kid!

Once again, you will continually be in our thoughts and prayers. I wish you and your family peace and love during this difficult time.

We didn’t know Stephen very well but the few times we were with him he was always friendly and polite. I was always impressed by his beautiful smile and the kindness in his eyes.

Stephan was always so kind to me from many years ago when I worked as his dad’s nurse to the last time I saw him in San Antonio. He had such a gentle smile. He will be missed.

Stephen’s family has held a special spot in my heart since I met his sister Cheryl in elementary school.  Growing up in those times was a lot more of a “make your own fun” era which is where I got to interact with her brothers and sister with games, swinging from the highest parts possible on there rope swing, how you can jump into a swimming pool in the most dangerous ways, and even breathing under water for several minutes in a hot tub wondering how they could possibly do that!  This family has gone through so many trying times and I hold the upmost respect for them all. Love you guys and prayers to you all

Oh my precious precious Stephan. He had my heart from the get go. We had some special and sacred times together. Although I know where he is right now with his dad and brother, he absolutely will be missed here. Love that boy! ♥️
