Shanti was an amazing person. Very important in my life.  I struggled with trying to find a balance between my seva and my family duties, and Shanti was instrumental in my understanding that my family duties were my seva and the best thing I could do is give myself fully to it and understand that was a great thing.  As a parent, sharing in person throughout the years and on facebook, Shanti always supported me and made me feel amazing.  She had an aura around her in which her joy in life was exuberant and couldn't help but be shared with her.  She is missed and will remain missed, but I am so grateful she reached out to me right before she transitioned and helped me through yet another crisis I was facing.

Witnessing Shanti’s love and delight for her grandchildren taught me how to be more present in all of my relationships.

I will never forget your radiance, Maha Shanti. Keeping your great company was the most beautiful gift for all of us. Thank you, and I love you.

Shanti's light shined whenever you were in her presence. I will always remember Shanti's fierce dedication to her craft as well as her devotion to her spirituality. We worked together, and she was always very giving and exceedingly patient. Most notably, Shanti followed her bliss. Edgar and I send our deepest condolences to the family. - Linda and Edgar Ridley
First, let me begin by sending all my love to Shanti's family and genuine regrets that I won't be able to attend the Celebration on July 23rd.  I will certainly be there in spirit.  Shanti was (is!) a force in the best possible way and I continue to feel her loving presence.  She was an instrument of blessings and grace for Philadelphia in the form of the Siddha Yoga Center we are graced to have here, the Siddha Yoga community in general, and all those touched by her big and loving heart.  How fortunate we all are to have known her and walked the path with her!
I'LL MISS YOU, DEAR SHANTI.
YOU ALWAYS MADE MY HEART SMILE.
YOU WERE MY SPECIAL SADHANA SISTER, AND WE HAD SO MUCH FUN TOGETHER.
YOU TAUGHT ME A LOT ABOUT SWEET SURRENDER AND SWEET DEVOTION.
IT WAS AN HONOR TO KNOW YOU AND TO LOVE YOU.
YOU ARE A TREASURE TO OUR SIDDHA YOGA GLOBAL FAMILY.
I got a lot out of being around Shanti, in ways I've yet to appreciate completely! Whenever she hosted a satsang (here in Philly) it seemed to have a special quality. Once I heard her say in that capacity that, "today I live in a state of happiness that I did think was possible." Inspiring!!
There are so many memories of Shanti. Her gifts to the center cannot be counted. She herself was a tremendous gift. Having grown up a Baptist I used to call her the "pillar of the church." And indeed she still is. Blessings to you, her family, and all who loved and cared for her so deeply.

I met Shanti at the Philadelphia Siddha Yoga center on Wayne Avenue. Probably 1978. She was a force. I did a lot of seva with her, and when she said to do something a certain way, you just knew that was the right way, and you did it. She walked the walk.
