I will always cherish the profound and loving impact Shanti had on the Siddha Yoga Meditation Center in Philadelphia. I was especially moved when she shared her personal experiences in doing the Siddha Yoga practices. I especially remember listening to her describe how Siddha Yoga played an important role in helping her prepare for some of her acting roles. I regret never seeing any of her stage performances. However, her love for the arts and theater were very apparent when she hosted any of our center's programs, and whenever she sang. On a few occasions, Shanti also coached some of us when we were preparing to serve as program hosts. She would frequently reiterate the importance of good stage presence as part of her coaching process. She seemed very passionate about that. It was also very uplifting and inspiring to hear her mentor newcomers to Siddha Yoga Meditation. You could see and feel the joy and bliss inside her as she spoke about the practices. Her loving energy and spirit will always permeate our center. I will always cherish her memory and it will live on in my heart.

I have known Shanti for 30 GLORIOUS AWE INSPIRING Years!
Gloria Loring first introduced me to Shanti in South Fallsburg at the 1993 NY Intensive so that Shanti can connect me with other other Phila Center Devotees since this was my first time experiencing SiddhaYoga.
I remember she Enthusiastically welcomed me with open arms & gave me the biggest hug ever & again when I finally came to the Phila Center!
She has been a mentor & dear friend all through these years since & I will always celebrate her Sweet Spirit in my heart.

Two Precious things I learn from Shanti:
The Importance & the Sacredness of Seva! My first time at the Center -
Shanti introduced me to Marcia & working in the Bookstore became my first seva. Throughout the years she inspired me to perform various sevas( Arati, Hall, Audio,) and was Head of Arati & Childrens Program.
My appreciation for seva deepen when I would perform seva in S. Fallsburg especially during the summers I would spend working with the Childrens Program.

Second Seva that had a very DEEP IMPACT on my life!
I went with Shanti & a few other devotees to Welcome Charity James who was moving here from S. Fallsburg into Stapley Assisted Living.
Little did I know I was going to be presented with the most beautiful seva opportunity that was going to change & have a deep impact on my life forever! Weekly visits to help take care of Charity, running errands, etc.
Performing this loving seva led to a very beautiful deep bond of friendship between Charity & me along with her daughter Clare & Rageevi who came down occasionaly from S, Fallsburg to check on Charity. Overflowing Grace dramatically changed my life & had a deep impact upon it.

My Deepest Gratitude & Thanks to you Shanti for all my Seva Experiences, all those wonderful stories & experiences you shared and all that guidance you had given me.

Love----Rose Anne Mangarella

My condolences to Shanti's family and friends who love and miss her. Since 1983, when I met her at the Ashram on Wayne Avenue, I always  felt love, joy and  enthusiasm when she would MC! Her smile was contagious! I introduced my grandmother Esther to Siddha Yoga and she  remembered Shanti who made a lasting impression on her,  and to us all. RIP

Mrs G was an amazing woman with a Beautiful spirit  and full of love she will be forever in my heart ..i loved the way she said  my name.....Rasheedah.

Blessings to Shanti’s family. Your mother was a mad lover of God that exuded great enthusiasm and love for a great master of meditation—Baba Muktananda. One reason I decided I wanted to meet Baba was because of your mother’s exuberant invitation after a program that introduced new people to Siddha Meditation. For that I am forever grateful. She was a great ambassador for SiddhaYoga. Peace and love. Cheryle Karuna Jackson

My deepest condolences to Shanti's wonderful family.

The longer I knew Shanti, the more fortunate I felt to know her. From Baba's time to the present time, she continued to share her enormous heart with so many. She continued to inspire me with her strength and commitment and joy and as time went on, I began to regard her as the wisest and most selfless of beings I could imagine!  She was a true servant of God and Guru, and no doubt she is dancing in ecstasy in the heavenly realms.

My family send our sincere condolences, May GOD give you Stacey and your family love, comfort and peace in this time. Your mother was like a second mother to me, Mrs. Gaskins will surely be missed. She now is with GOD sitting at the right hand of the throne!! She will always be with us in spirit.🙏🏾💖🙏🏾
I always felt that because Shanti was so pure of heart, she could freely express her mind  without constraints, leaving her audience in awe and for most in delight as well.  Like so many I loved, admired, respected  and believed in Shanti.
May beloved Shanti soar in the heavenly realms. May her children and grandchildren and all who loved her carry on her practice of pure hearted self expression and action.

Much love to Shanti's beautiful family!

Shanti was a great source of inspiration and encouragement to me in her leadership role in the Siddha Yoga Meditation Center of Philadelphia. She helped me understand, deepen, share, and treasure my experiences of grace. She will always have a place of love and gratitude in my heart.

There is no one else like you Mom, you were one of a kind. I'm lost without you, I love you, I miss you. I know you would want me to be strong at this time, I'm trying. Rest in Heavenly Peace. Your daughter Stacey.
Shanti was my second mother. Her love for life and people was so pure. I loved to hear her perspective on issues and I shared so many memorable moments with her for over 55 years. I want to thank her children for sharing her with me. May God reminds you often of the blessing she was, is, and will always be in our lives!!!💜🙏🏾😇

She was like a sister to me. She was kind. Funny and one of the best actresses I’ve seen. I loved her.

Best,

Barbara Clarke

In 2018 I moved to Philadelphia and met Shanti at the SY center. Although I’d practiced SY since 1981 in several ashrams and centers, Shanti’s welcome—showing me Baba’s and Gurumayi’s special items in the hall—made me feel part of my new SY community. For that and so much more, I’m eternally grateful to her.

1985, Siddha Yoga Introductory Program at University of Pennsylvania
Shanti's incredible love and devotion are what brought my wife and myself to Siddha Yoga.

In 1985, we were a bit curious about the Siddha Yoga introductory program that was given at the University of Pennsylvania. We sat towards the back of the auditorium in case we wanted to leave early. However, when Shanti walked out on the stage as the MC, everything changed! She entered with a magnificent smile, and greeted the audience with such heart felt emotion and love for the Guru, that we were brought to tears. Her words were filled with pure love and devotion. It was her incredible shakti that enraptured us that night, and made us see the sanctity of Siddha Yoga. It was that night that my wife and I entered the Siddha Path.
Sending much love to Vaishnavi, Shiva and all of Shantis family for the loss of your beloved mom. Thinking of you and hoping to attend via zoom.
A room was never the same once Shanti entered. The molecular structure changed as if readjusting itself to shape around her enormous energy, her overflowing love, her uplifting spirit. Those of us who were privileged to spend any time with her in this life more than knew her — because knowing Shanti went so far beyond the mind. It was a cellular experience, like drinking a tall glass of lemonade while sitting on a front porch on a hot summer’s day. Get out your fans and set a while everyone while we celebrate our great friend Shanti. And drink up.

Words  won't do for this woman, but if we must...,, Shanti  was wisdom,  dedication, inspiration, devotion, balance and so many other virtues rolled into one.  She was monumental in assisting me to follow the Siddha Yoga spiritual path through her joy and personal sharing during the many times I participated as she hosted programs/satsangs in the 1980s and 1990s.  That she was unfailing in her love for God affected me deeply.  What a role model she was/is!!! I know I speak for so many when I say how lucky I was to have known her.
