I’m so sorry for your loss. I was shocked to see this on your restaurant door. God bless everyone of you through this awful time. You were so good to my family as we struggled with my mom. Will be praying for all of you!

I taught Phil, his sister Bridget and his brother Stephen at Rocky Mount Academy during their high school years. Phil had a tremendous sense of humor. He sat in the back row in history class, always with a big grin on his face. He was tall, maybe the tallest kid in his class. One day I saw Phil heading toward me on the other side of the hallway between classes. He was smiling. I yelled out, "Phil!" really loud and he started laughing. From then on, every time I saw him in the hallway, I would yell out his name, and each time Phil would smile or laugh. About a week later, I saw him coming down the hallway. As soon as I called about his name, Phil looked and me and shouted, "Don!" right back at me! From then on, it was a joke we shared. This probably went on for the whole school year. I called out the last "Phil!" to him on graduation night and he called out "Don!" as he was leaving. He had a broad smile across his face.
Already missed. Always remembered.
