So a continuation of the story with Frankie's Mom Annie. She told me of an incident w Phil at her takeout.  We didn't leave any money with Phil that day. Not sure where the other kids were but it was just Phil n Frankie next door. Annie asked Phil what he wanted to eat and he said oh nothing because he didn't have money. Of course Annie wasn't going to charge him. Upon her repeated insistence, she told me our humble son said he would just have some white rice w gravy on it please. Not something of substance with the selections she had.  It brought tears to my eyes because this was what my Father would offer back in the days as a manager of a takeout in NYCs west village. To the many homeless people that came in. My son was a simple man , even as a boy to not ever think he was entitled to have anything just because someone offered it. He stayed humble and selfless and very appreciative of anything that people gave him. Of course Annie took care of him then and now by visiting Phil w her son Frankie....and served him somethingbmire substantial. Thank you Annie.

Since the services, I’ve been listening to Taylor Swift. 😭 what beautiful song lyrics— Phil was a real romantic and must have  felt his emotions very deeply. I can see why he was a Swifty. A person so young should never have been taken from us. Linda, John, and Philip’s siblings, sending you warm and long hugs from up north. May you have comfort for your pain.

My first trip to NYC, Phil wo…
NYC, NY, USA
My first trip to NYC, Phil worked out of the NY BlackRock office this Friday so we could spend the long weekend in the city. He showed me Chinatown, his favorite candy store, his favorite restaurant where he had been many times with his family, took me to Time Square, showed me the Statue of Liberty, and so much more packed into little the trip.

Two days after the services, which you, Bridget, Taryn, and the siblings, so painstakingly and carefully put together, with such great care and love, I’m back to the streets of New York City, where Phil came out, I’m back to work. Wishing I could drop everything and travel like Phillip did. Regretting I had not called him more, to check in, wishing I didn’t squander precious time, but grateful for Linda and John, who gave Phil all their love, loved him unconditionally, and who made sure he had everything he needed to take flight into the adult world without fear or inhibitions. My heart is breaking, as much for his parents as for my nephew, Phil, whose hugs we will miss deeply.  This is so horribly cruel, so wrong  in too many ways. Waking up every day feels like a bad dream. Our hearts break for Linda and John, who also have to work, and try to put on a smile for unknowing customers at Jersey John’s Deli. This tragedy is hitting all of us hard. But most of all for Phillip’s parents: may you find comfort and relief from tremendous pain through music 🎶 which Phil loved so much. May music and memories envelop you with softness and healing, one day at a time.

Linda and John, your community is here for you. Please reach out for friendship and support. We love you deeply.

Sending healing prayers and comfort during this tough time. ♥️
I am deeply saddened by the news of Phillip’s passing. Thinking of you all during this difficult time. Praying for strength and comfort in the days to come.
