I have such fond memories of Pete during the holidays so many years ago at Teta Sylvia’s. His kindness and contagious, positive energy were abundant. Sending my love and deepest sympathy to the Popovich Family. 💗

When I was young he gave me and he’s son a very stern talking to about drugs that I’ve never listened to but the moment is there the memory is there. Years later unfortunately I grew apart from Hunter but I an very sober now… from everything and this man is speaking to me right now. I swear to …. Hunter your dads words changed my life…. I was able to save my life and my moms. Rock n Roll Brother.

Tom and I are crushed that we can't attend. Our son's college graduation is at the same time that day. Pete's cheerful presence and huge smile at the end of long days on the high school houseboat trips was contagious. He exuded joy and he will be missed until we meet again. Love to you all 💙

Pete was the definition of a mensch, always looking out for other people, helping friends and total strangers alike, ever generous and kind. He had the most amazing, positive outlook on life, regardless of any personal challenges he faced. Our design team always told him if we were stranded on a desert island, he was the ONE person we’d want to have there with us, because he’d make sure we were all ok. In our professional relationship, he was the team’s “5th Beatle”, making sure every print job big or small had a flawless result and delivered on time. A consummate pro at his job, we followed him wherever he went. In our personal relationship, he was simply the best friend you could ever hope for. We will miss you forever, and we are all better people simply from having been in your orbit for a few decades. As your Pop Mike Popovich always said: "God love ya." Rest in power friend.

Pete and I talked just days before this tragic event. He always greeted me: “Hey Perky!” And I greeted him, “ Hey Petey!!!” Pete was a man of God who served others like very few others in this world. He served with a loving heart and without judgement. I know when Pete walked through heaven’s gates, he hugged his mom and dad first, and I suspect my son Carson next, sending a little love from me. The world was a better place with Pete in it. I look forward to him greeting me, “ Hey Perky!!” When I arrive in heaven one day. 💕

The last thing you think you are going to hear happens out of no where. Someone you love dying suddenly unexpectedly.
Mortality arrived at different rates of speed in different way. However death keeps its own calendar.
All we can take in death are our thoughts and feeling.
There are questions to ask at the end of life or anytime.
Have I made my life purposeful?Have I learned to care for others? Have I touched others in a meaningful way? Have I brought joy into the lives of others?have my existence mattered to others well being?
These are questions that should matter most to us as human being., whose happiness and suffering are defined by how we relate to others.
No force can stop time but how we use our time is up to us.
For me compassion is the key to a meaningful life.
For Pete he has answered to all these questions, his life was mindfully lived and we are all richer for it.
We all have the potential for change. Intention is the third dimension.
Pete thank you for your gifts and here is a big hug and love for you.

Pete was a amazing friend. We considered our friendship a “brotherhood”, for 14-years we shared a love for Jesus Christ, and grew together as disciples. I will miss his improtu phone calls to check on how I was doing. You could feel his endearing smile over the phone! RIP Peter. I pray that you are face-face with our Lord. And I pray for healing grace, comfort, and strength for your family during this most difficult time. Praise God for bringing you into my life!

I became familiar with Pete for nearly 35 years as he impeccably serviced the design and photo department at the University of the Pacific school of dentistry. My team members got to know him very well, and everything that is written about him in this obituary is true.

As a fraternity brother, there’s no other bond that a man can have than pledging an oath that has meaning for the rest of our lives. God speed Pete. Your infectious smile, character and friendship will be remembered in our life time. All honor to your name.

Please accept my sincere condolences. I worked with Pete when I was at AMP Printing. He would take the time to say Good Morning to everyone from the main office to the warehouse crew before he heads upstairs to his office. Deepest sympathy to the Popovich Family for your loss.
