Pete was a dear friend of ours and we are so saddened by his untimely passing.  We will cherish our memories of the good times we shared. May he rest in peace🙏
Peter was a part of our family for a period of time. We will truly miss his kindness and laughter.  Wishing everyone peace🙏🏼
I was in complete disbelief  when I heard the news of Peter's passing. "No - are you sure it was Pete?" Oh my - that Mega-Watt smile is gone! He would come over in the beginning and ALWAYS bring some tooo-yummy food and I know it's because that was he was taught to do. But one day I said "Peter, you are welcome any time - but you must stop bringing the food - I'm gonna get fat from all these yummies" and he was always a gracious man to me - served in his community, and we got to collaborate on his cooking for Kent's 35th AA birthday - such a delicious meal and he was more than helpful and willing to make this a nice event.  And when he came to our Caroling Party he as about 7 days sober, and he brought Susan and Hunter, and he wanted to know where the booze was because NOBODY is this happy without alcohol.  But alas - there was no booze here! Such a loss to so many. Debbie Davis
I am so bummed that I have to be on a airplane to fly to speak that night :( I tried for anything later and it's just not possible. I last talked with Pete on his 20th AA birthday in December. He was always so enjoyable to talk to.  Great conversationalist. I'll always remember the first time I met him, he was about 7 days sober and came with Susan and Hunter to our Caroling Party and was like a deer in the headlights - wide eyed and wondered where the booze was because NOBODY could be that happy and be sober! But we were.  Gosh I'm still in disbelief. I will miss him greatly. I'm gonna miss that mega-watt smile!
My sincere condolence! Can you please tell me the online info for the memorial? Many thanks!

Back in the mid-2010s or so, Pete really wanted us to give him one of our bigger print jobs- a brochure for a continuing ed course in Hawaii that was currently being printed elsewhere. He showed up at our office one day in full Hawaii regalia-including (I think) a lei and (definitely) a coconut bra. Was there a grass skirt? Maybe. And if memory serves, toting at least one pineapple. He took excellent care of that job (and all the rest) ever forward. The team is sure there is a photo somewhere but we can't find it anywhere. So just picture it in your mind. A quintessential Pete story. He just won you over.
Love you guys and thinking of you. So sorry for your loss. Sending love from San Diego

What an amazing guy...Always kind and welcoming, Chef Pete could cook up a storm and was always interested in helping out....He set the bar high and yet, made it look fun and easy.  What a loss and yet, what a gift!
In my heart, Pete will forever be that 9-year-old boy, the little brother of my friend, Sandy, that impish look, that smiling face, that bundle of energy. A beautiful soul.

Our deepest sympathies to Sandy and the rest of the family.  We know that there is a big hole in your heart, but hopefully your memories of Peter will help your healing.

With love,

Linda Berman & James Koo

Our heartfelt condolences to a one- of-kind person.  We are still trying to grasp this horrible news about Pete.  My husband and I were his neighbors in Benicia and one of our bocce ball members - Team Imbocceball.   Pete's dishes he shared with our team were always outstanding and delicious. He would randomly show up at our door with his catch of the day.  He loved to fish and was so generous to those he knew. I can still hear his voice. He was a regular at our annual Taco's and Tequila event. This year we will make a toast on behalf of Pete.  We boated together on the straight, he even let our young niece steer the boat while he was guiding her. She loved it and is also sad that he's in heaven.  Our mutual friends and bocce team members  will have a deep hole in our hearts. Our bocce ball team nicknamed him "The Mayor"and I'm not even sure how he earned it.   I will especially miss his amazing hugs.  We will always remember you Pete, we send love to you and know you'll always be looking out for all those who knew you. XOXO
