One memory that stands out is when I was trudging through the snow towards the chapel at a winter retreat with NVC's high school youth group. I saw Niranjan (who was working as a supervising adult) gleefully packing snowballs and then lobbing them at youth kids' backs-his daughter Leah exclaimed, "Dad!!" sounding exasperated but also smiling at the same time. Everyone was laughing and there was so much joy in this simple moment-this is how I remember Niranjan: always bringing joy, laughter, and peace to those around him.

Niran's smiling face is tattooed on the tapestry of my memories, forever frozen in time with his signature mustache and good graces. What a marvelous time and charming friends we made: Jag, Raju, Ken & Jim, Wayne and so many others making their way through the valley, working, living and thriving. Jina, I will miss my friend and raise a glass in remembrance.

Niranjan was one of the best human beings I ever meet in my life. Gone too young... My condolences to his family!

My heartfelt condolences go out to my cousin Niranjan’s lovely wife Gina and his three children and pray God gives them the strength to cope with the loss of a loving husband and father .
What immediately comes to mind when I think of Niranjan, is his smiling face.
During our school years , I admired him for his mathematical prowess . I recall clearly, how he once assisted me with my Grade 10 Maths Holiday Assignment way back in the 80’s. I sat through these sessions with great trepidation as my maths skills were a far cry from his . I did well with his patient guidance .
I also fondly remember our reunions whenever us cousins ( then teenagers ) got together at Tank Bund Road , Chennai - the late night movies, the jokes , the fun and laughter . The time we spent during his sister Sujatha’s wedding, will indeed be a period I will never forget . Together with his jovial parents and his siblings we would go late into the night splitting our sides with laughter . The stories Niranjan would enact about his sisters’ reactions when he teased them, are stories I enjoyed listening to.
The one comforting thought as we deal with the loss, is that he is in a better place now, safe in the arms of His Creator and together with family gone before him.
Rest in peace dear Niranjan and watch over your family and us , from up in heaven .

Leah, you wrote such a beautiful obituary for your amazing father. You did such a great job of capturing the bits and pieces of Niranjan and his life. We are so so sorry to hear of this dear brother’s passing and our hearts ache to think of the pain and suffering he and your family went through since his diagnosis. He made such an impact on the lives of so many of our youth boys while we were in youth ministry with him - they all loved and respected him which is no small feat when you’re teaching HS boys! He was an amazing man of God and everyone who knew him could not help but be drawn to him, his light, love, and laughter. May God give his family, friends, and loved ones peace as they mourn him no longer being here on earth with us, knowing that he is with the God he so loved and no longer in pain. We will miss him greatly.

To Jina and family,
I ached to hear of your loss. May you feel God’s presence in the midst of this very sad time. He walks with you in your pain. May you also see that God has His reasons why illnesses stricken our loved ones and why sometimes He does not heal them yet He heals others. God’s ways and understanding are higher than ours. We just have to trust Him.
Jina I have always watched and listened to you speak in our Life Group. I always admire your strength, calmness, humility and wisdom. You make me want to be more like these characteristics. You will have to teach me one day how to master these traits.
Your sista in Christ,
Tiffany (The Noodle Lady;))

Whenever Niranjan prayed, "Lord, You are my strong tower", I believed him.

I have had the opportunity of spending time with Niranjan Uncle only during a couple of family weddings- but the stories I’ve heard about him make it feel like I’ve known him forever.
The credit goes to the storyteller- his mother, Josephine Aunty, who was a darling that I terribly miss.
Aunty Jina, Leah, Matthew and Anna- I pray God gives you the strength to accept his loss, our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of sorrow.
One thing I am confident about though- he must’ve already lit up heaven with his radiant smile and infectious laugh, with Josephine Aunty cheering him along🥰

My heartfelt condolences to Jina, Leah, Matthew, Anna and to Niranjan's extended family. Niranjan was my room mate for a couple of years at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. We were both fresh off the boat grad students in a foreign land struggling to make ends meet while pursuing a tough as nails Mechanical Engineering program at UofM. Through all those days, Niranjan was a great friend, we shared so many stories, both sad and funny, he would always see bright side of things and his thousand watt smile lit up any room he walked into. My biggest regret is not telling you how much I loved you my brother, but I bet you knew that. You will be missed. Rest in peace. -- Rajen
