Michael “Mike” Keating, 29, passed away tragically on Monday, August 12, 2024.

Mike is survived by his wife and soulmate, Ellen, his daughter, Loretta, and his pets, Max, Sheldon, Agnes, and Berry. He is also survived by his parents, Ralph and Kari, and his brother, Steven. Mike is remembered fondly by his parents-in-law, Mike and Sara, his brother-in-law, Owen, soon-to-be sister-in-law, Julia, extended Gehling/Keating/O'Neill/Turnquist families, and friends.

Mike was passionate about bettering himself and providing the best life possible for Loretta. He was a hard worker and enjoyed his career as a carpenter; he never missed a day. Mike loved a meticulously constructed campfire, an eclectic and extensive collection of music, and stargazing. He spent every moment he could at the cabin and dreamed of moving north for a shorter commute in his much-needed truck. He was never one to miss a home-cooked meal and was the king of leftovers. He loved potatoes in all forms and cheeses of every variety.

Mike was an amazing man and is remembered with love by all who met him for his kindness, sense of humor, intelligence, creativity, and his commitment to being the best father he could imagine. He will live on through his daughter and through his selfless donation of tissues.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Mike on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Roberts Funeral & Cremation Chapel (8108 Barbara Avenue, Inver Grove Heights, MN 55077). All who loved and respected Mike are welcome to join. A Time for Sharing will begin at 6:00 PM and everyone is encouraged to share their fond memories and kind words.
