Dance on, Dory!  You leave beams of sparkle behind for all to feel forever enriched by knowing you.  Thank you for your passion and loyal commitment to family, community and every endeavor in your path. A new journey awaits you, see you down the road, partner.
Like so many of the Hoover Class of ‘71, we were shocked and saddened by the passing of Kirt 😢.  He did stay in contact with a few of us and I was one of the lucky ones.  My last message to him is, “long time no hear”.   He was one of the most upbeat people I have ever known and will truly be missed in so many ways.  Rest in peace, my friend…and one of your favorite closings back to you….Muah 💋
I was very sad when I heard the news of Coach Kohlmeier's passing. Coach was a mentor and a true friend. RIP COACH K.

Kohlmeier was my softball coach from 2000-2003. He was an honorable man with a strong sense of integrity that always pushed us all to give all of our best, on and off the field. He was so passionate about the game and man do I remember how important it was for him to have the softball field be impeccable before the start of any games. I loved helping him chalk the foul lines and the batters box. My favorite memory was coach always discouraging us from having boyfriends by telling us that “boys are like bus stops, they’re on every corner” lol. My condolences to his family, Carol and his daughters Guinevere and Nicole.
Coach, thanks for opening up the gym for me all those nights and weekends. Thanks for helping me stay on track in classes, and giving me a little help when I needed it.  You were the ultimate players' coach.  I learned a lot from you and appreciate that you gave me an opportunity to learn the coaching side of things, even as a young player.  It was an honor to take over as head coach at Hoover, and start my coaching career in your footsteps.  Your generosity and advice when I came back to Hoover will not be forgotten.  We definitely lost a good one...but you did not leave without inspiring and touching many of our lives.
Just heard the news and Don & I are so sorry for Kirts passing. Such a fun guy. Great softball coach. Tina still talks about the spring spent in Carols pool house !  He’ll be missed.

The golf courses are greener, The basketball games are better, the barbecue devices are something you’ve never seen before and you’re cooking amazing meals. I love you, I will miss you, and thank you for all the lives you have touched in your short life, including mine.

I’ve been proud to be the annoying little brother that you had, lol.

I love you

I remember he drove me in his white Chevy IROC Z CAMARO to the hoover H where we chalked it my junior year.

He was my coach for 1 week my incoming sophomore year where I made the team.

Later on he asked me to help him on the bench of his varsity bball team. Years later we became colleagues while I was one of the volleyball coaches at Hoover. Thanks coach for the good times and life lessons.

You will be missed. RIP.

MY DEEPEST CONDOLENCES TO HIS DAUGHTERS AND THE ENTIRE FAMILY.

I was saddened when I heard the news of Coach Kohlmeier's passing.  He was a legend and his memories will forever remain with us.  I can still hear his voice rooting and cheering for everyone and pushed them beyond their limits.  He believed in everyone and was always a bright light for those around him.  Sending thoughts and prayers to you all and may he rest in peace. 🙏🏼🤍💟
"Well, what are you waiting for, Pilgrim!"  Whenever I think of you,  I hear John Wayne's voice. Lol....his biggest fan ever!  You're a good man, Kirt, and you will be missed by all of us. We loved your stories, your cooking, your laughs, & even your cigars.  Continue with your journey.... until our paths meet again. Love
Rest in Peace Coach Kirt Kohlmeier! There are people who come in our lives for a season and those we will cherish in our hearts forever- you are the latter! Thank you so much for always checking up on me and you will be greatly missed 💐🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Thank you Dory for accepting me into your family with open arms as another daughter you never knew you needed 💕. Your top notch grandpa skills were admirable and I loved the twinkle in your eye when we were all together. I’ll certainly miss your stellar cooking skills (and the 3 lbs of ribs always ready for us upon arrival), us sneaking cookie dough to Spencer and Sid, receiving pictures of your furry farm friends, and watching old basketball documentaries (of course with you hitting pause every few minutes to tell me a story from your past coaching days 🏀). I’m in awe of all the stories I’ve heard of the lives you shaped and changed for the better. I’m glad to have had you over the past 4 years. Rest Easy, Dory. Enjoy those horses 🐎🐎

My deepest condolences to your family. He was my coach and in  1996 we won league that year all due to his coaching. Great 😊 man. He will be missed.
I am so saddened and have this knotted feeling in my stomach. Kohlmeier was everything that represented our high school years! He was a great advisor that we worked closely with planning the best activities for our class of 1998! He made everything possible and always wanted us to be different than anyone else! I loved hanging out at Guinevere’s house and have late night talks with him & Carol! Those r the memories that I will forever cherish! My deepest condolences to the entire family, especially Carol, Guin & Nicole!

Im very saddened to hear Coach K’s passing. He definitely left his mark with us as coach, but most importantly as a great person.  Carol, Guinevere and Nichole my condolences to you and families.

Kirt was such a force of light and love and encouragement and of true connection and impact on so many lives. Talk about  a life that pulsed and glowed and made a difference!  Carol, Nichole, Guinevere and all your families, I am deeply sorry for your loss and I'm sending so much love your way. Kirt is in my heart forever, and I’m holding each of you there as well. ♥️
I am so sorry to hear about Coach Kohlmeier's passing. It really was a punch to the gut to hear. He was such a fierce but caring human. Always had your back on and off the basketball court. You will be missed Coach.
